We recently connected with Elvis Le and have shared our conversation below.
Elvis , appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
You need to have some sort of love or passion for what you’re doing. You can’t be in it just for the money because by doing so, the quality of the work you put out will not be the best. I’ve been doing this every single day for the last 8 years and I love it. Of course I wasn’t successful in the beginning. However, the passion that I have allows me to invest quality time and effort into my business, leading to successful outcomes.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I originally got into this business because I was not able to afford a shirt from my favorite brand, “Bape” as they were $100 a shirt. I remember saving $300 from my birthday and using that to purchase Bape clothing. After I purchased the $300 worth of clothing, I sold the pieces at a higher price, netting in almost double my purchase price and the rest was history. Fast forward today, I am a supplier of Bape. I offer private clientele services where I bring items to clients so that they can shop freely and conveniently. I also supply bulk to numerous resell stores in various states. In the city that I grew up in, there is not much. After highschool, you either go to college or you get a job. I’m proud that I’m able to inspire people in my city that there are other ways to become successful and that they can do it too.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
By supplying items to a lot of celebrities and sports players, I would get shout outs on Instagram all the time, which helped build my social media presence. The advice I would give is to post and advertise on social media regularly and to do something different and unique from others who are in the same business, selling the same items as you are.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I’ve been building my reputation for 7+ years in this business. Having a good face card helped a lot with my reputation. Every item that I sell is authentic guaranteed, there is never a question about my authenticity. Not only that, but I’ve built a system to where I’m able to deliver products on time.
