We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elvis Frison a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Elvis, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
To boost my sales when I first started, I offered the next purchase Customer Appreciation Coupons. These coupons were my way of showing my consumers that I appreciated their first purchase and that they would receive a discount on their second purchase.
I also started putting small gifts in each package…wristbands, mask, and buttons. I have also sent my repeat customers a free t-shirt of my choice to thank them for all the support.

Elvis, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
E’s qualiTee designs was birthed in 2017 due to my love of graphic and special t-shirts. I never could find a t-shirt that expressed exactly what i was feeling or wanted the message to say so I decided to make my own shirts. In the process of my making my own shirts, people would see me wearing them and ask where I got them. Once I told them I made them they would ask me if would make them one so I decided to make it a small business which has grown over the past 5 years. After posting designs on social media the request got bigger so I decided to make a website to help me post orders.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
My business has been self funded since I started. I purchased all the start-up equipment and told myself I would pay myself back once I made sales.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
By using instagram and following strangers, it began my social media trend. I tried Facebook but it wasn’t as active as Instagram. During the pandemic, I began using Tik Tok which has really busted my sales.
