We were lucky to catch up with Elmira Lilic recently and have shared our conversation below.

Elmira, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

I started to do my own healing work about 9 years ago when I found myself in depression very unsatisfied with my life. I was working in tech finance, accomplished so much in the year that I lived in Los Angeles but was completely unfulfilled with everything about myself and my life. I was moving through life and functioning with depression on a daily basis. I decided to make a change and started taking university art classes and mentoring youth by teaching them how to paint. I started practiced yoga on a daily basis, drinking cacao for a month and began a micro-dosing protocol . This lead me to experiencing deep earth medicine journeys with psilocybin and Ayahuasca, which has completely shifted my path towards good health and joyful living. The years to follow were all dedicated to unlocking all that needed to be seen within me, sorting out all my trauma and rediscovering who I am and how I wanted to show up in this life. I found a lot of healing happened through art healing, plant medicine, yoga, kundalini, sound healing, breath work and and sacred community circles. The moment came where I began sharing all that I have learned and experienced on my healing journey with others. I first did this through my paintings, all artworks that I create are from visions in dreams, meditations and spiritual experiences that I bring into visible material manifestation. Then I started sharing my connection with Reiki healing and sound healing with different groups of people. It is such a powerful tool for clearing stagnant energy and brining in the energy of LOVE. Through much of my own experience with earth medicine and learning along the way how to share it with others. I began to hold space and offer guidance to others in their own healing journey by one on one support and group support. I did not expect to do this in my life, I always wanted to help others but I thought the only way to achieve this was through the path of becoming a therapist. I began that process in college but once I reached the graduate program I felt through my intuition that it wasn’t my way. Now I get to do all the things I love without being constrained to one specific type of work. I am blessed to offer all the things I love to others at the same time and I would not want it any other way.
One year ago I opened up The Dusty Rose a speakeasy for the heart’s of our community. This special experience gives us the opportunity to come together and enjoy the artistry of Jazz, Poetry, Songs, Dance, Spoken Word and Sound Healing.
In the time spent together we bask in love, creativity, friendship, shared stories and each other’s gifts and connection to earth medicine and Spirit.
All of the experiences and healing practices I’ve curated in the past year have been recorded and are now being offered on my community membership platform. As people watch the recordings of The Dusty Rose from the comfort of their home, they will be immersed in all its healing beauty. They can enjoy a couple of earthy delights on their own or with their loved ones, and enjoy the show!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I provide solo healing experiences, group healing experiences and retreats. I also offer fine-art abstract paintings. I have a healing art temple that I rent out for production, events and meetings and this is where I host the Dusty Rose and run my Majka Earth Shop.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

In the healing arts I am oftentimes moving through my own lessons as I hold space for others to do their work simultaneously. It is imperative to stay strong and be a beacon of light and strength when working with people’s well being. I constantly choose to support others in their healing no matter how uncomfortable the truth is. I know that each person that stands in front of me whether they are purchasing something, are experiencing a session with me or are a part of the Majka Earth Community. They are a representative of the collective heart and whatever is surfacing to be seen is what the collective heart of all beings needs support in. That is my service to this lifetime and the collective as a whole. I move through resilience with ease and grace, not just for me but for us as a whole.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I struggled having my full attention every day of the year on one type of work or business. I thought maybe I am not reaching the ultimate financial success because I am not giving it my full undivided attention, my heart just wasn’t into the things I was doing. I spoke with some successful elder women of this burden that had been on my mind and they shared with me that I am a woman and need to embrace my unique makeup. I figured out and accepted my personal work flow and that brought me my abundance in all aspects of my life, not just financially but also abundance in love, friendship, community, relationships, creativity, experiences. As women we flourish in cycles and the rhythms of nature. If I want to paint for 3 months and then after work on ceremonies for 2 months and then write for a week and travel for one month. I should and can do that because at the time that I spend with each I will be with it 100 percent based off of my intuition, my desire and endurance to give it my full self for that specific project.
It’s an unconventional way of doing business and operating in this society. But I have tried it the standard way and it did not work for me. I had to learn how to work optimally for myself so that anything and everything I offer to people is of the highest integrity. Now everything I create and offer is truly all the same. It carries the same energy and that is the medicine of Elmira.
