We recently connected with Elly Seifert and have shared our conversation below.

Elly, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

It all traces back to my roots. I come from an Ecuadorian background. We are hard workers, kind, spiritual, humorous and we usually have a story to tell. A true story. We have a strong Christian relationship. We love helping people in need. Ecuador is considered a third world country and at some point in our lives we have struggled emotionally, financially just to name a few and somehow with the help of family and the grace of God we’ve been victorious. There have been battles internally and externally. Things we can’t control but we can persevere. But in all the chaos we celebrate and “make do” with what we have, and we didn’t have much. That mindset had to come from somewhere. I know where. The powerful thing called prayer. We know life is short and our struggles are only temporary if we control it. So why not have Hope and celebrate while at it. Intentionally bringing joy into a crappy moment. I live by this quote “Change your perspective and that’ll change your experience”- Pastor Bill Johnson. So fast forward to 2020. Covid 19 hit the fashion industry hard. I used to work for an Italian children’s brand on Madison Ave and once Italy went down, we all went down. I was unemployed, single mom of two, about to sign divorce papers and struggling to decide whether to move away from New York city to survive or stay and be in a ton of debt. When it rains it pours hu. Well I thought to myself. WTF. Well what do we do when you’re lost and have nowhere to sustain ourselves? You pray. I relied on Devine intervention because I was giving up, I didn’t know what to do.. But I wasn’t made to give up. I’m a warrior, and this cannot defeat me and my family. I am also an Ecuadorian raised in Brooklyn, NY. We are tough AF. I am tough as F*&ck. Plus if “If Gods for us who can be against us?”Romans 8:31. Well I believed it and persevered through the chaos. My family moved upstate, my kids can go out without a mask and longer than 30 mins at a time. My marriage reconciled thanks to Covid. We were once divided but out of this storm came unity. That was a pure blessing and a lot of cool things came from it. We got the chance to live in a house, not an apartment. I hosted parties like no other. We celebrated, baby showers, birthdays, holiday’s, game nights, random parties just cause, engagements, BBQ’S, movie nights on the lawn. It was real full. We had so much abundant life and we celebrated ALL THE TIME. Everything was amplified. We were on cloud nine. This was a huge testimony for our beliefs and how it strengthened in just that year. Fast forward to 2021. I felt the need to share my blessings, world wide. I wanted to find my ultimate purpose. It takes time and experience to find this. My personality, my life, my support all played a big role in finding that purpose. But after seeing what God did for me and the rest of my family. I relied on Devine intervention again. Though this time I was really focused and determined like never before. It definitely helped to live in a desolate and quiet place to gathers your thoughts and reminisce. I gathered all of my gifts, not presents, godly gifts. I’m visionary, cheerleader, humorous, passionate, empathetic, bold, brave, intelligent, risky, honest but over all loving. Mix that with decor and events. You get Pastelly. That is the foundation of my business. With every customer and every event I apply most ,if not all, of my gifts. When I serve my clients needs, it makes me happy to help those that want to celebrate their accomplishments, goals, life events etc no matter the budget or ideas. I know how encouraging and supporting I can be. I help them achieve what they think is impossible. For me it’s the recipe for success. Tell me the emotional story behind you purpose of celebrating or spreading love and joy, and I will help you achieve them. God be willing. I create relationships not just customers. This has helped me stand out from all other businessess. If you change your perspective, you will change your experience. Sprinkling Devine intervention makes it all happen. As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I got into this business of decoration for events after I found my purpose. I loved hosting events and I love decor. Design is my background and providing exceptional customer service is my mastery. I create relationships not just customers. To me it’s a lot bigger than just the service I provide. My customers have stories beneath the surface and they should be heard.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Listen to them and empathize. It’s about them Not YOU. They are here because they need your service. Be humble and that will create relationships that are strong and loyal.
