We recently connected with Elliott Smith and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Elliott, thanks for joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I actually run my own’ Social media platforms. I think it’s very very important as CEO/Owner, that your always front facing, and not always have people managing your social. One thing to take in mind is that you have to be organic and that’s what I do with my social media. Allowing myself to be creative and as I’m creating I may post or if I come across something as I’m driving or traveling or just hanging out with friends or I see something that is inspirational, I’m able to post at that moment and I don’t have to go to through an agency or third party service and wait a couple of hours a few days for the post to be published. The insight on social today and being organic with your post, is it always brings more followers. These type of posts always gets the viewers or followers attention. Consider your usage of videos or your reels and it not just simple pictures anymore. “THINK OUT THE BOX!”
Elliott, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Now I have a multimedia company that strives for excellence and makes our clients look and feel good about their company or brand. It’s hard work to establish yourself, but it is worth it when people acknowledge your company for the hard work that you do.
Since my last article I have continued to strive and made several more accomplishments. I have stepped into the realm of AI technology. Understanding to capable when used in the medical field, arts, music and social media. I have also started to do more drone footage, as I work with local construction companies, and agencies. I continue to work with the nonprofits such as the Cam Cares Foundation @thecamcaresfoundation. KeY’ia Burnett is the Founder (Key Learning Solutions) @KLS, where I’m the Co-founder. We hosted our first big community event with the Mid-South Food Bank this past March, where we brought awareness to the nonprofit and also collected food to support the local community. I also had the opportunity to attend the Memphis Comic Expo we’re my good friend and business partner, Robert Leland Gardner of Rleland Arts @rlelandarts. He showed his talents as a illustrator and digital artist at the event, with our new upcoming projects. There is much more in store as we continue to expand.
With more than 20 years of experience in this field, I continue to research I continue to study I continue to stay with the trend or create the trend. There’s no right or wrong in being creative. There’s no right or wrong to be an innovator. It is most definitely no right or wrong, being yourself, and making something happen, or making a difference in this world, and that’s what I push forward towards, is to make a difference not just for me my family, but for the world.
That is why I create eGrafixs. I have always been innovative, creative and knowledgeable about technology, and I’ve also been able to be an artist/creator in those facets. Also I been able to be creative by hand with painting and different media, One thing I did with my brain is I made a E from the first letter in my name and I always had people coming to me asking.”Can you fix this?” “Somebody created like this and it doesn’t look that professional. “Can you redo it?”
So, I found myself always assisting to fix something graphically or multimedia wise so that’s how I created the name of eGrafixs. Elliott is fixing graphics (eGrafixs) simple as that. From there I have been blessed to have several clients small businesses, organizations and corporations that I work with over the last 15 to 20 years and it has been a great success and I pray God continues to bless my company and the clients I currently have and will obtain.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I first started in the design world, I strictly concentrated on graphics, flyers, print work, signage, logos, etc. As worked I began to feel link I was limiting May capabilities as I was ramping up during my career, I saw that I could not just continue to do the same projects, because it wasn’t lucrative, so I decided to focus more on web development, CSS, JavaScript, HTML. From there I began to learn and develop UX and UI design to create apps. This was a big nudge to help me stay with the trend in technology, and also with marketing and branding. After gaining these skill sets, it has allowed my business clientele to grow, and also the expansion of my services were able to grow to provide more to my current and future clients.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
One thing I do with my current clients, I try to have weekly projects or monthly projects meetings. I reach out to them via email, offering them incentives for their projects or logistics assistance. Also with expanding to new clients we also offer incentives to get their project started, and we also communicate biweekly in order to get the projects finish. Sometimes with longer projects, we usually meet via Zoom or Microsoft team or in person. Whatever is best for the client(s) and i provide brand and marketing strategies social media campaigns and digital marketing to showcase their brands small businesses and nonprofits. This has been a great insight on what type of communicating is needed and keeping a client abreast on their projects and also what our business can do for them as we continue to grow and move forward.
