We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elle Weberg a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Elle , thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
In October of 2021 I moved my referral based business across country from South Florida to Los Angeles. I had no clients. I literally had to start from the ground up. It was an extremely uncomfortable process. It nearly broke me, and brought my issues around basic security and identity up for review. At the time, this process felt excruciating – but in review, It offered me the greatest gift – a complete ego breakdown. Leading up to the move, my goal for nearly a decade was to be based in LA where I could have access to work with artists in the entertainment industry. My ultimate vision and lighthouse during the preparation process was to accompany musicians on tour and care for them on a holistic level – (Bodywork, Personal Training, Nutritional Support and Stress Relief) as I know a tour can take a huge toll on one’s body – physically, mentally, energetically and emotionally. I gave myself those 10 years to train in Palm Beach with the best Bodyworkers in the world so I had the confidence and knowledge to provide something very special and elite to my clients. While the first few months after my move were very painful, there was a defining moment I’ll never forget – the moment where I got out of my own way. I flipped the switch from questioning my choice of making the move to knowing that I could absolutely make this vision happen. In that moment, everything changed and work started flowing my way. Fast forward a few months and I’ve been seriously taken care of. People in Los Angeles have been so generous – happy to refer me and very appreciative of my work. I’ve been received in the exact way I imagined and for that I am extremely grateful.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
My life’s work as a swimmer lead me to my current path as a Holistic Wellness Facilitator. At 25 years old I started training on a club team in South Florida in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games that housed 8+ Olympians. One of those athletes was a 5 time Olympian and individual silver Medalist at age 41. She utilized and praised a recovery technique called Ki-Hara. I loved the work immediately. When my swimming career ended It was a natural progression to start studying with the two Ki-Hara founders to begin to reveal and hone my own innate healing skills. In the course of nearly 10 years I was solely focused on building the best practice I could to support the people I work with. I sought out the highest quality modalities available and trained with top level practitioners to intentionally craft a toolkit that would optimize any human I work with. The foundation of what I offer is Ki-Hara. What’s so special about this form of bodywork compared to others is the functional nature of the work. While many techniques offer temporary relief from tension, Ki-Hara gets to the root of the issue to create long lasting change in the body. This is great news for anyone who is experiencing chronic pain and discomfort. This is multi faceted work, combining tension release for muscles and connective tissues, adding strength to muscle groups that may have been turned off due to dysfunctional movement patterns, and adding functional flexibility utilizing resistance stretching. Thru my studies, experience with clients and own personal wellness journey I understand that to be optimal one must be approaching their health on a holistic level. We must care for ALL areas of our health. So I not only specialize in Ki-Hara I have attained a variety of certifications and skillsets ranging from Whole Foods Plant based Cook/Nutritional Counselor/Detox Specialist, Thai Bodywork + Detoxification Protocols, Functional Strength Trainer, Pilates Instructor, Zero Waste Lifestyle Coach, Breath work + Meditation Facilitator. My absolute favorite projects are fully immersive work, where I work with one person for a set amount of time (ie 3 month) and we do a deep dive into their wellness to elevate their entire system.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Having Integrity with word and deeply caring for the people I work with. When I started working with little experience or training, what kept me in business and constantly growing clientele was the fact that I showed up on time, didn’t cancel or change my appointments and deeply cared about the people I was serving. When you are present with people and care about their success – magic happens. I feel honored that people trust me with their bodies and that acknowledgment never wanes.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Doing effective work for people. I show up vibrating high on my A game, I appreciate every person I work with. I share love with them and am available for what they need in the moment. I’m trustworthy and people feel taken care of by me .
