We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elle Darcy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Elle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
The word “power” is often thought of as a dirty, or negative word.
The legacy I want to build is one where women embrace their power, and if they forget or lose it, they will always know how to return to it. There are so many systems within our society that teach women to relinquish their power from a very young age. I want to be remembered as a woman who owned, fought for, and kept her power—and taught other women how to find and treasure their own.
One thing that I’ve created in my offerings is returning women to what I call their “soft power.” Soft Power is the unshakeable state of being that happens when you lead the whole of your life by trusting your intuition, understanding your own energy (Hello, Human Design!), and confidently stepping into the woman they’ve always known they are.
Elle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Mama. Mentor. Speaker. Writer. Sacral Generator. Cancer, Double Virgo. Photographer. Activist. (and so much more…)
I believe that every one of us has an inner calling and our purpose in this lifetime is to answer it.
My personal calling is to guide women on the journey back to themselves; empowering them to rediscover and reclaim their true essence while creating a life that feels generous, present, abundant, and fulfilling.
This is a life where your worth is sourced from within.
In my work, I draw upon my diverse life experiences and expertise to offer insight, guidance, and tools such as Human Design, Somatic & Embodied Healing, and Timeline Jumping that help women heal, but more importantly, thrive in their Soft Power.
Everything I create is rooted in a commitment to center, uplift, and celebrate women.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I grew up in a very unsafe home environment (re: addiction) that deeply defined the woman I am today because it showed me an inexhaustible commitment I have to always be the authority of my own life.
This unf*ckwithable sense of power and autonomy over myself and my own wellbeing was not well-received as an outspoken little girl telling adults in her life to quit the sh*t and shape up.
But this inner strength did serve to protect and care for me all the while fortifying my ability to forever trust my knowing throughout my life.
This powerful energy helped me to move out and fly to Nepal alone at the age of 17; keep my surprise (birth-control!) pregnancy at the age of 27; and it pushed me to take a huge entrepreneurial leap of faith and become my own boss at age 30.
In a deeper way, it showed me how to quiet the noise, expectations, and “shoulds” of others; how to create a life that felt good to me—not just one for show; how to build a thriving business on my own terms; and how to intuitively raise my own daughter in a safe, beautiful home as a successful and joyful single mother.
And most of all, it showed me how to teach other women—like you—where their power has lived inside them all along, how to embrace it, and use it to build a life that is yours.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
As a former social worker and single mother turned successful entrepreneur, I’ve learned firsthand through my own burnout and exhaustion how important it is to care for myself first while caring for the world.
Through my work, I teach women how to put their wellbeing on the top of their to-do list and create a life that offers less frustration and more freedom through their own feminine power.
