We were lucky to catch up with Elle Cooper recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Elle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I spent many a days thinking about the kind of legacy I want to leave for my children. One of the reasons I wrote my book “Rebirth of Priceless” is because I believe that the true value of my words would be more appreciated in the long run. Just as I had to learn to appreciate the words of my own mother, I figured one way for my children to remember my words would be if they were on paper. Then, they would be able to reference back to them later.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a book publisher and co-owner of Cayelle Publishing, LLC. I am also a published author, singer/songwriter, and mother of three. On May 5, 2021, I released a song titled “24 Hours 2 Long” to commemorate the losses of Kobe and Gianna Bryant, and all the lives aboard the plane. If there is anything that sets me apart from others, it’s my desire to help others become something great. I look for everyday to inspire and motivate people. I truly desire for people to believe in themselves.
I am proud of the work of Cayelle Publishing, but I know we have so much more to accomplish. The day my best friend and business partner decided on pushing forward with our book publishing company was one of the biggest decisions of our lives. However, we both knew that it almost inevitable for us to be apart of the artistry we both loved and embraced since high school.
In addition to my non-fiction book, I am currently working on my first fiction book. I am excited about it and hope that I can get this much anticipated book in the hands of the reading audience in 2024.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My journey is constant. I fail, but I get up and learn from it. As a matter of fact, I am always learning. I was a teen mom, and a single teen mom at that. I tackled parenthood most of the time on my own. I worked from a teenager, constantly attempting to further my music career and it was always falling through the cracks. I just didn’t have the luxury of working toward my personal goals as much as I wanted because I made a choice to be a mother. With all the obstacles, I still managed to go back to school and earn my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. That was my first ever personal goal that I obtained, and everyday I see that degree hanging on my wall, I say to myself, “You did that.” Giving up has and never will be who I am. I am determined to continue on my journey, no matter what.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met my business partner in high school, so we’ve known each other for other 30 years. We never talked about going into business together until about 15 years ago. We would collaborate and bounce ideas off each other. We decided that we both needed to be highly interested in whatever we decided on. When we were sitting down having lunch one day, we started snowballing the idea of selling books. We both love reading and writing. We absolutely love everything that is art. We are two creative individuals. When we realized all the elements of the art we shared, we concluded that book publishing, although has its challenges, was a perfect fit.
