We were lucky to catch up with Elle Boyce recently and have shared our conversation below.
Elle, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
When it’s all said and done, I would like for people to remember me as the one who listened, understood and got it right! During the consultation I listen very closely to not only what the potential client is saying but I am also paying attention to how they are expressing their thoughts. I am able to embrace their passion with words and exude a very loving and thoughtful gift. I take this very seriously and am hands on throughout the process from the consultation to final delivery. The delivery portion is where my reward comes from. To have the opportunity to witness the expressions and emotions of the recipient is nothing that can ever be purchased-it’s priceless.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I started my business on a dare to myself. A young lady I met through Social Media was looking for someone to create an anniversary gift for her and her husband. She was specific about wanting a gift basket. Something kept tugging me to give it a try, so I did. That was 12 years ago and I created my very first gift basket on the living room floor of my best friends home. Many trials and errors have passed since that time and I’ve learned valuable lessons that have stayed with me throughout the years. My goal is to create “core” gift baskets as opposed to “surface” gift baskets which means, It’s very important I develop a relationship and strong understanding with my clients which is generally done through the free consultation that I offer. Surface gift baskets are “just that”, there is no meaning or personal touches put into creating the gift, you can usually find surface gifts at your big box chain stores.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Google is my saving grace. Would you believe 80% of my clients find my business using this search engine? I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients throughout the United States, Canada and Argentina. I use social media to promote my business but it doesn’t have the same affect as having a Google business page. Word of mouth has also been tried and true and a proven success.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I moved from the Midwest to Arizona 11 years ago. My intention was to get my business up and running with thousands of clients requesting my services. After a few months, I realized it’s very important to know your target audience and location. I unfortunately put my business on a 5 year hiatus because my hopes and dreams did not fruition…at all (laughing). It was a very tough decision to make but very warranted as I soon realized my losses were outweighing the profits immensely. Creating gift baskets became a passion of mine the moment I created the first one. After a bit of encouragement from my family and friends I knew that I couldn’t continue living without designing and creating amazing gifts for my clients loved ones near and far.
