Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ella Solodovnik. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ella, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
SoloElite was inspired by my last name, Solodovnik. I took “Solo” as a nod to my roots — but also to reflect individuality and uniqueness. “Elite” represents the experience I strive to give every client who walks through the door. I want people to feel valued, elevated, and truly cared for. The name reflects my commitment to offering not just services, but an exceptional and personalized beauty experience.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve had a love for the beauty industry for as long as I can remember. I officially started my journey in 2012 when I got my cosmetology diploma, and I’ve been fully immersed in this world ever since.
In 2019, I opened SoloElite Studio — one of the first Microblading-focused studios in Lincoln, Nebraska. Back then, there were barely any options for high-quality semi-permanent makeup here, and I wanted to change that. I had a clear vision: to create a space where people not only get great results, but where they feel calm, cared for, and confident.
Later in 2021, we moved into a beautiful, bigger space on S 48th Street, and that’s when SoloElite became more than just my studio — it became a platform for other beauty professionals to grow their own businesses too. I built the space thoughtfully, with intention and love, and within a short time we had a full team of independent artists doing amazing work under the same roof.
Today, SoloElite is one of the most trusted permanent makeup studios in Nebraska, with over 3,000 clients served. But what I’m most proud of isn’t just the numbers — it’s the way we make people feel. I’ve developed my own techniques over the years to give the most natural, long-lasting results, and I’m always learning and evolving to stay at the top of my craft.
My goal has always been simple: to help people feel beautiful and confident in their own skin — and to create a space where artists can thrive while doing what they love.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I started building my business, I didn’t have a marketing team or a big strategy — I just had my phone, my work, and a passion for sharing what I do. I built my audience by showing up consistently, posting real client transformations, and being myself. I didn’t try to copy what everyone else was doing — I focused on connecting with people, showing my results, and letting my personality come through.
Over time, I realized that social media isn’t just about looking perfect — it’s about building trust. I made sure every post, every video, and every caption reflected the experience clients could expect when they came to my studio. I also used stories and behind-the-scenes content to show the human side of the business — the long days, the excitement, the passion behind each service.
My advice for anyone just starting out:
You don’t need to go viral to grow. Be consistent. Be clear about what you offer. And most importantly — show your face and your work. People don’t just book services, they book you. Let them see who you are, and the right audience will come.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe my reputation was built on three things: consistency, results, and how I treat people. From the beginning, I focused on giving every single client my best — not just in the results, but in the experience. I made sure people felt welcome, heard, and taken care of from the moment they walked in.
I also showed up consistently — both online and in-person. I shared my work, educated my audience, and let them see the process behind the results. I never tried to pretend to be perfect — I was real, and that built trust.
Most importantly, I stayed committed to growing my skills. I always want to offer the best and most up-to-date techniques, and I think people recognize that dedication. Clients talk, and when they feel seen, respected, and beautiful — they tell others. That’s how the SoloElite name grew in Nebraska.
