We recently connected with Ella Rae and have shared our conversation below.
Ella, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
When someone starts a business for the love of it, not just for the money, I believe that this is what makes a brand or business successful and long-lasting. Having a passion for something shows in the quality of your work and in your relationships with your clients as well.

Ella, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Ella, the 27-year-old creative behind Reignland Creatives. In my opinion, my brand is a design studio for female powerhouses. This is because I believe that any woman who is committed to her dream is on the path to becoming the next icon. Being an entrepreneur can be challenging. My first experience with designing was on a Windows XP computer when I was 15 years old, well before Canva and Photoshop were available. The art of design has always intrigued me, so when I delved into it deeply, I learned everything I could. There is always something new to learn about design and marketing. Today, my brand offers small businesses affordable website and graphic design, branding, and virtual assistant services. From personal experience, I understand how difficult it can be to have a dream but feel unable to afford it. I try to accommodate their budget wherever possible. This is something I wish to change. Apart from my passion, I am empathic toward small business owners and creatives, which is what makes me stand out among my peers.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My reputation has been built primarily on honesty. My colleagues and clients know that I am not afraid to provide them with information about the industry if they have questions. It was clear to me from the beginning that I did not wish to serve as a gatekeeper. In my industry, there are so many individuals who charge an arm and a leg for even a simple question. It was imperative for me to walk through the door and leave it open for others to follow. While I may have gone through hell to remove that door, I believe we suffer through things like that in order to prevent others from experiencing the same difficulties.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I believe knowing my worth was essential to ending up with clients I had been dying to work with as well as following my own rules. I work in an industry where people have a set way of doing things, but strategy isn’t one size fits all. Developing my own definition of self worth and my own self-belief in my own strategy helped me attract clients I absolutely loved.
