We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ella Catherine . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ella below.
Alright, Ella thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
I started brainstorming my podcast in 2018 but it didn’t come to fruition until August of 2020. I have always been energized by presenting an public speaking and my father was also in broadcasting. I guess you can say it’s an inherited interest that I have had since I was a child.
My podcast journey began as a money-management podcast because I enjoy talking about investing, saving and having ownership in money. As a millennial women, I realize that it’s fairly recent that we are encouraged to have ownership over wealth. It wasn’t until 1974 that women could have a bank account. For many of us, that is our moms generation.
As the podcast progressed, the conversations got deeper than just money so I wanted to branch off of this. I began to interview a lot of entrepreneurs on the show who ditched the comfort zone and “security” of a standard career to find a pathway to success doing what they feel passionate about. I became energized by the stories but the title was long.
In 2024, the podcast had a rebirth as LifeLong Learners Collective. I still feature many entrepreneurs but also expand on subjects in the expertise. I have a community of listeners who are always yearning to grow the mindsets and evolve as individuals. My guest lists has spanned from backup dancers for famous artists, bestseller authors, CEO’s and popular Youtubers. I look forward to continuing to meet incredible people through my show and what they share with the listeners.
From this, I have honed in on listening to my inner voice and being guided by my heart. When I first started, I would told to niche down but I chose to expand instead.
Ella, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I consider myself as a multi-passionate woman or as my coach would say, a manifesting generator. I stay extremely busy with my full-time career in Fintech along with many hobbies that include various forms of dance, reading, exploring nature learning about history and of course podcasting.
The purpose of Lifelong Learners Collective is to inspire individuality, belief in self, unconditional self-love and expanding outside the comfort zone. By adapting a lifelong learning mindset, you open yourself up to new possibilities in life and overall happiness.
By interviewing the guests on my show, I am allowing them to talk about the challenges they have faced, the lessons they have learned, the work they do and why they enjoy the path they created for themselves.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Yes, I am a huge fan of the “You Are a Badass” series by Jen Sincero. I read the original book, 6-years ago on the plane and I knew I was in a pivotal point in my life. I realized that all through my 20s, I subconsciously felt the need to dim myself to fit in and also went along with the crowd to fit in. This book challenged me to why I was in my everyday habits, why felt like I was living on auto-pilot and why I was not prioritizing my physical health.
I also look up to Lewis Howes (host of School of Greatness podcast) and Gabby Bernstein (inspirational bestselling author/host of Dear Gabby Podcast). I have followed their work for years and do a lot of workshops through them.
A book I read 2 years ago, that also deserves a shoutout is a Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. This has helped me stay grounded and to enjoy the present everyday life.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Lifelong Learners Collective remains as a passion project for me however, I have landed a few sponsorships that have paid back on the investment I make.
The coolest observation I make now is the calibers of guests are coming to me to ask to be on the show. I currently have content recorded 5 weeks out. If you want to know who, you will just have to listen.
