We recently connected with Elizabeth Wold and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Elizabeth, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I really think your passion is what leads to success. For me, my passion for sharing the love of God with others has led me to start my own business! This year, I began hosting retreats for college girls, I published my own devotional, and I continue to sell Christian jewelry. As I am a college student involved in many activities, it can be hard to find time for this. However, what keeps me going is my never-ending passion for my faith. I want to create a business that can show people who God is and why following Him is important. I want people to walk away knowing they are loved by God, and using that feeling to equally love others.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Elizabeth, and I am a junior in college. I started my Christian business by making beaded cross bracelets in high school and selling them just to make extra money since I did not have a job. Now, I have accomplished my dream of writing a devotional. I wrote 15 Days of Godly Friendships to inspire other girls my age to overcome the difficulties of worldly people, and to find friends that draw them closer to the Kingdom of God, something that I have experienced time after time that has shaped me into who I am. I am proud of myself for making my reality into a guide that can help others. I don’t want other girls who are struggling to feel alone. To continue to be a light of Christ for others, I sell my devotional and jewelry as well as run Christian retreats. The retreats are new to me in this past year, but it is a great way to get young adults involved in their faith.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met my retreat partner Michelle in my freshman year of college. We were both shy Christian girls who didn’t know how to fit in at a secular college. Luckily, we found each other through our burning passions to build a Christian community that we wanted. Through our three years on campus together, we have led bible studies and other Christian events to get people engaged in their faith.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
I actually wrote and designed my devotional on Canva! I had a proficiency in Canva already, so I felt most comfortable doing things on there. When I was looking for a printing company, I was reminded that a family friend of mine owns one. I got to work with her and she was so generous in helping me make the perfect product. She printed my first batch of 75 devotionals which turned out amazing. I have been told by entrepreneurs that my devotional looks “very professional”.
