We were lucky to catch up with Elizabeth Tiseo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Elizabeth, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
As a person in the Health and Wellness industry my mission is similar to most, helping people live a healthier lifestyle. My programs go a bit deeper than just throwing a meal plan at a client or telling them what to do. I aim to educate people and guide them through how to use their knowledge of wellness in their everyday life through habit based health and nutrition coaching.
Health and Nutrition is more than just the food we put into our bodies. It involves our sleeping habits, our movement, and how we treat ourselves both physically and mentally. My company is a place where people can come (judgement free) when they have made the decision to live a healthier lifestyle and don’t know where to start. I offer one on one coaching tailored specifically for the individual to help people where they currently are at in life to live and feel healthier than they did yesterday. I don’t have people just jump right into the deep end and do everything all at once like many fad diets do. I believe in taking steps at your own pace to become the best version of yourself as we are all created so uniquely different and beautiful.
How did I get here? Like anyone I have had my own struggles, and because of these struggles, I am able to help others overcome and lead a healthier lifestyle. Full transparency, I have struggled with anxiety and depression within myself and in my family. I never realized how much my environment, my choices and so much more impacted my life both physically and mentally. It was not until I found fitness that I realized there is so many resources and help out there, we just need to ask for help. That is where a coach comes in, and I am so lucky to now have the ability to help others through my coaching.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Liz and I am a proud owner of two companies.
EAT’s Cheats, a healthier baked good company, was inspired by my nutrition clients needing sweet cheat treats. Most sweet products out there have so many ingredients in them we don’t even truly know what we are eating, so I decided to create traditional baked goods with more natural ingredients. It all started with my Classic Peanut butter cookie and now has multiple different flavored cookies, pies, and even our new like of Soak’n Oats (high protein oatmeal packets).
EAT’s Complete, my other company, is my one on one Health and Nutrition Coaching company providing clients with habit based nutrition. I am a certified Nutritionist and believe in working with people on more than just the food they put into their bodies. I focus on habits that are involved in sleep, movement, environment, etc. No one person is completely alike, so my approach is never exactly the same with each individual.
The interesting part of my story is, if you would have asked me ten years ago where I would be today, I would NOT have even come close to owning two businesses let alone being in the health and fitness industry. Growing up I was never into any sports or fitness. I only came into the Health and wellness world when I was about 21, and now I am a Crossfit Coach at Aubrey Crossfit, and owner of both EAT’s Complete and EAT’s Cheats. When I look back on the journey, I could not be more grateful for where I am today and what tomorrow will bring.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Within my first year of business, part of my journey really got shook up by my need for shoulder surgery on my dominant arm. I had a lot of momentum from both of my companies, but due to surgery I had to completely stop baking, lower my nutrition client load and stop coaching Crossfit. Obviously, this was very hard on my wallet, but more importantly, it was hard on me physically and mentally. I was not able to do the things I loved personally or professionally. This meant no working out, no coaching, no baking, no helping others, etc. It felt like my whole world was turned upside down. The first few weeks of recovery was very difficult to get through, but I kept telling myself to push forward. Despite the pain, the mental health struggle, and the feel of defeat, I refused to give up. Because of my resilience, I am now back in business, working towards my personal fitness goals, and continuing to strengthen my mental health. We all get hit with obstacles in our lives, but it is how we respond to and overcome those obstacles that makes us stronger and more resilient.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
During our lives, we will all come across a lot of moments where we have to pivot and reassess. About 3 years ago, I was working for a company for 8 years and found myself eager for a new challenge. I loved the company I worked for and the people I worked with, but something just didn’t feel right anymore. I had spent 8 years climbing the ladder in a male dominated industry, and I was considering throwing it all away because of a gut feeling. After a lot of back and fourth within myself, I decided that I would not be throwing away all of my hard work, but instead, I would be closing one chapter and starting another. So, I decided to quit my job in corporate and pursue my health and fitness career. Was the money way better in my former career? Yes, but the moment I started coaching, my job made me feel more fulfilled. Since then I have gone from just coaching Crossfit to owning my own companies alongside it. I am grateful for this chapter in this book I call life, and I don’t regret any of the choices I have made along my journey.
