We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elizabeth Siggers. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elizabeth below.
Elizabeth, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I knew I needed to open my own business, because I had been a stylist for a popular salon for 12 years. I felt as though I was running the salon myself. I also felt as though I learned everything I could possible learn there. It was time for me to step out on faith!

Elizabeth, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Boston residents submitted over 1,400 nominations, and my business and 29 others were chosen to be awarded 2023 Legacy Business Awardee
The Mission Hill main streets awarded Liz with a banner as well.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Every business has its challenges. When I first started, I had a huge clientele and worked alone. Quickly, I needed to hire staff- motivated ,professional staff to train and develop. The management side of business was a big learning experience. Today there are still challenges. Our post – pandemic business world is different and evolving. The younger generation is interested in trying out new fields, changing and developing constantly. I deal with that bye attending job fairs at the schools. Offering several scholarships when I speak to the students, brings me the opportunists to help young people learn new skills in a field that will provide them a pathway to becoming their own boss.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn being a great coworker. I had to learn the skills of delegating, and management. Giving constructive criticism. Putting fires.
