Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elizabeth Rivas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Elizabeth, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
As I’ve gotten older, especially in my twenties, I’ve realized how much I notice the way people move through the world. When I come across someone who is genuinely kind, respectful, and thoughtful, my first thought is always, “Their parents did a really great job.” That reflection has made me appreciate my own upbringing even more.
My mom did an incredible job raising my sisters and me. I’m the youngest of three, and she was intentional about our manners, the way we speak to people, and how present we are in conversations. It wasn’t just about saying “please” and “thank you.” It was about truly listening, acknowledging others, and making people feel seen. She taught us to be respectful, to carry ourselves with kindness, and to treat everyone with dignity.
Now, working in a guest-facing role at Disneyland where I interact with thousands of people, I see how much those lessons shaped me. I naturally try to be warm, attentive, and personal with every guest. I go out of my way to make people feel heard and cared for. I also give second chances freely — something I learned directly from my mom. She always saw the good in people, and that’s something I carry with me in both my work and personal life. I believe everyone deserves patience, grace, and sometimes just a little extra understanding.
I was also lucky to have strong role models outside of my family. My high school teacher, Mrs. Caverly, would walk around every day reminding us to “be your best self.” It sounds simple, but those words have stayed with me into adulthood. Being your best self isn’t about perfection it’s about intention. It’s about choosing kindness, choosing effort, and choosing to show up fully each day.
What my mother did right was instill empathy, accountability, and the importance of being a genuinely good person. Those values shaped not only who I am, but how I work, how I lead, and how I show up for others. I truly believe being a good person goes a long way in your career, in your relationships, and in the impact you leave behind.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I work in the hospitality and guest experience industry in Anaheim, where I have the privilege of interacting with guests of all ages. Many of them are visiting for the very first time, sometimes at an age where it’s been a lifelong dream. Whether they’re young or young at heart, I believe everyone deserves a memorable, kind, and magical experience.
What drives me is knowing that for many guests, this might be a once in a lifetime visit. Some may never return for years, and that makes every interaction matter even more. I love the idea that I can contribute to someone’s special memory, helping make their day at Disneyland truly unforgettable.
In my role, I provide more than just information or assistance; I offer empathy, patience, and a genuine connection. I aim to ensure that every guest, regardless of age or background, feels valued and leaves with a smile.
What sets me apart is that deep commitment to kindness and empathy. I’m proud to be that positive, memorable presence in someone’s visit, and I strive to create experiences that guests will cherish forever.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
In my opinion, one of the best ways society can support artists and creatives is by encouraging collaboration. When creatives come together, it’s amazing how much they can lift each other up. I saw this firsthand at Disneyland. Over time, as I connected with a content creator friend, he shared my story on TikTok, and that blew up my visibility. It was amazing to see how collaboration can really amplify our voices and connect us with a wider audience. So I believe that when we support one another, we create a much richer, more vibrant creative community. It’s all about those connections and lifting each other up, and that’s how we build a thriving creative ecosystem!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
At the heart of my creative journey is the commitment to being a positive role model and staying true to myself. Growing up, I always sought inspiration from those who embraced their true selves and made a positive impact, and that experience now drives me to do the same for others. I believe that being authentic and kind is incredibly powerful. It’s not just about how we look or what we do; it’s about how we treat others and the positive influence we have. For me, it’s essential to inspire others, especially young people, to embrace who they are and to understand that kindness and authenticity are what truly leave a lasting impact.
Ultimately, what drives me is the belief that being yourself and being a good person are the keys to meaningful, lasting influence. It might sound cliché, but it’s the truth staying true to who you are and treating others with respect is what really drives success and creates a lasting legacy.
