We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elizabeth Osondu. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elizabeth below.
Alright, Elizabeth thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
This is a great question that requires an intricate response. Yes, I am happy as a business owner, but at the same time I do not think about what it would be like to just have a “regular job”, because I am a Woman in Tech at Microsoft as a Sr. Azure Specialist in our Retail & Consumer Goods industry, while being the CEO & Founder of EO&Co. where our mission is to “Empower all women to truly channel their purpose, while redefining the standards of beauty.” I personally love the dichotomy of the life that it consists of. I am happy in both areas for many reasons. I am able to feel fulfilled, creative, and in control, while being challenged, learning at such an accelerated rate, and making such an impact on my clients and community.
At times it is difficult to balance both as a one woman show, and not every day is rainbows. It takes a lot of grit, determination, organization, and overall balance to keep both afloat at such a high vibration. With my overall vision career wise being to merge fashion and technology, I believe this is allowing me to get closer to accomplishing just that.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
So much life advancements have taken place since our last interview in October of 2018, but one thing that is consistent in my elevation has been God’s presence in my life. As a former student-athlete, Woman in Tech, Lifestyle Connosseur, Entrepreneur, and follower of Christ, I had been blessed with multiple opportunities in life.
I am a Woman in Tech at Microsoft by day and an Entrepreneurial business owner and influencer by night. I am the CEO & Founder of Elizabeth O & Co. where we are able to accomplish our mission of “Empowering all women to truly channel their purpose, while redefining the standards of beauty.” through the events we host, our merchandise, Guidance Towards Tech Consultations, Mentorship, and continuous nurture to our community via upliftment.
I naturally had grit and edge in life due to my competitive drive, but also a creative hunch and hustler mindset towards “having it all” and “paving a path” for others. All which prompted me towards starting my business. I started my YouTube channel, The Elizabethan Era, and expanded on my social media platform in June of 2017. The purpose of starting my channel was “To help others channel their true purpose.” That then led to me monetizing my talents and starting EO&Co. officially in 2019 when it became an LLC.
I have always had a natural mindset geared towards strategy and took this leap of faith in the same season in which I discovered that my pre-medical track was not my desired destiny, but rather a business track would truly help me obtain my overall dream. I was blessed enough to pivot from medicine in my senior year of college after studying extensively for the MCAT and landing a job offer at a Fortune 500 company, IBM. I then made the pivot and began working at Microsoft in May of 2021 in the current role I am in today.
Although I am still in awe at how I was able to acquire such a natural growth in my platforms being at 10.6k+ on Instagram and 12.8k+ on Tiktok, I am humbled day in and day out by the thought of inspiring just ONE person. I look at my YouTube channel, my Tiktok, and Instagram as a business; prompting me to pour every bit of energy, passion, and effort towards the production.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe consistency within the quality of my brand helped build my reputation within my market. I am a person of quality over quantity and believe that has taken me far. Based on customer feedback I have received, my consistency to continue pumping content, dropping new collections, and receiving promotions and advancements in my corporate spaces have allowed for others to see my passion and hard work. Lastly, I believe that being strategic with my launch and meticulous in the use of influencers who are given codes has helped build brand awareness and drive a level of consistency towards my business.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for my business, EO&Co. are referrals and social media automated transactions. The built-in automation within Tiktok drives my community to engage and thus checkout and or book consultations instantly.
