We recently connected with Elizabeth Ortiz and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Elizabeth thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I was working as a surgical tech in a recognize hospital. When Covid-19 hit our country I was almost 9 months pregnant working at the hospital. I was already in the industry of health and wellness for quite some time. But i was working on it part-time. For many this pandemic was a tragic event but for me was the push I need it to overcome the fear of failure. If there’s something stronger than fear is motherhood!
I was about to give birth, my boss was not a good one, I was afraid of leaving my baby at a daycare because of everything that was happening. All this gave me the courage to start my ow path, my own business as a health and wellness coach on my own protein bar. I could just go with the flow and wait to see what will happen with everything going on. I would have just accept that this was how it was going to be.
But I decide that i want it better for me, my kids, and my family. I decided to see the cup half full. All of this gave me the opportunity to enjoy my baby full time, to create relationships with my clients and to expand my business by being able to give people employment, and motivate some to start their own journey on having their own business and being in control of their time and finance.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
As a teenage I was into dancing, fitness and all that included on looking good and healthy. But as time kept on passing ans I became a mom my priorities change. Now I was dedicating my time on working, being a mom and a wife. I got lost trying to fill all of those position and expectation that I left my self go.
When I finally got a chance to breath I weight my self and I saw that I was the heaviest I have ever being in my life. Not even when I was pregnant I weighted this much. I was 207 lbs when reality hit me. At that time I want it to take control I knew i need it to do something to make it right.
I had a friend that used to dace with me back in my country Puerto Rico. I saw that she was back on working out and eating healthy, so I ask her and she introduce me to what now i sell and represent. My journey started back in 2014. I started to work out, making better choices when it came to food and supplementing 2 meals a day with protein shakes. This help me to reduce my intake of calorie witch result in loosing weight. In 6 months i was already 42 lbs down and that created the opportunity of having my own business because people started asking what I was doing to loose all of this weight.
Now almost 7 years later I help people with the same problem I had when I first started this journey. I have my own protein bar/shop where we do metabolic evaluations and assessment to help them reach their goal. We also sell protein products like different flavors shake, waffles, crepes, pizza, waffle sandwich, donuts and cookies and our famous energy drinks.
Other thing that set my brand apart is the environment that you encounter as you enter in to my shop. You will feel welcome as soon as you step in. You can also take picture in our mural walls, every corner is fill with a positive message.
As a business owner I’m most proud of how far I have came is very satisfying to see my clients face when they come in and see the new remodel place. Endurance, consistency and patience have made everything possible.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Invest on your self. Invest on that book of personal development, buy that ticket of that seminar, read the bible, get that gym membership. Invest on you growth. Get out of that comfort zone nothing have never grow. Talk to people, be open to challenges.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Quality over quantity. This will help you to stand out between everyone else. Always work like if you have a boss looking at you even if it is your own business. Work smarter not harder, be on time! Show up for your self! Make things with love and passion people will notice. We are energy and we attract what we are. Be your best so you can receive the best.
