Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Mcdonald
Hi Elizabeth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Throughout my entire life I have had bunnies, in 2019 I got my first 2 holland lops. Honey and Storm started it all. From them I grew my business to where it is today with 8 adult bunnies. I also began boarding bunnies after one of Honey and Storm’s babies needed a “bunny sitter” while the family went on vacation. Through kind people and amazing pets I have been able to nurture and grow this business. Today I have bunnies in homes across the country, bunnies living with ex-NFL players, and bunnies living very lavish lives! I could not be more blessed to have this business built up behind me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are always struggles to face, challenges I have to succumb to from time to time. There are emergency vet trips, late night phone calls from concerned bunny parents, and tough conversations.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lizzie’s Lops?
Lizzie’s Lops is a micro rabbitry raising a small herd of holland lop bunnies in southwestern Pennsylvania. We also offer boarding services to families with our bunnies. We are known for our bunnies incredible temperaments. It takes time to socialize and get a baby bunny used to loving human affection. The thing that sets us apart from other breeders is our exceptional care for our bunnies, we make our bunnies family and treat the babies just as that too. So when your baby comes home it adjusts perfectly to being in your family. I am the most proud of the beauty of my bunnies. I raise a beautiful array of colors of holland lops, which produces the most gorgeous babies. I want everyone to know that our bunnies are one of a kind, between their temperaments, coats, and health we offer a unique opportunity to have a bunny who is real family. Then of course we enjoy having our babies back for bunny- sitting when families go away on vacation.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Those who share the same hobbies and interests love supporting each other! You can ask anyone who raises bunnies a question and leave feeling great. Just reach out and be friendly, the response is always overwhelming positive.
