Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elizabeth Lawson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Elizabeth thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
When I think about the legacy I want to leave behind, I keep it simple but powerful. My three main goals are to be a ray of positivity for those around me, to make Nashville a better place for everyone, and to ensure underserved communities get the support they deserve.
First and foremost, I want to be that person who brightens someone’s day, makes them smile, or offers a listening ear when they need it. Being a positive light means spreading kindness and good vibes, and I believe it can have a domino effect, touching more lives than we can imagine.
Nashville is my home, and I’m committed to making it an even more amazing place. It’s about supporting local businesses, getting involved in community projects, and just generally working to make life here even better. That might mean contributing to education, healthcare, or cultural opportunities that benefit everyone in our city.
One of my biggest passions is helping underserved communities. These are the folks who often face extra challenges and need a helping hand. My legacy will be all about being there for them through volunteering, supporting local organizations, and doing what I can to bridge the gaps and create a more fair and inclusive Nashville.
In the end, my legacy is all about spreading kindness, making Nashville an even more awesome place to live, and ensuring that nobody gets left behind. It’s a simple but meaningful mission, and I hope it inspires others to join in and create a legacy of compassion, progress, and togetherness. Together, we can build a brighter future for Nashville, leaving a legacy that stands as a testament to our shared commitment to making a positive impact on the world around us.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In October 2021, my world turned upside down when I got the news that I had thyroid cancer. This was a time when my business was booming, and I was on top of the world professionally. I couldn’t have predicted the journey that awaited me.
It all started with a routine checkup, and my doctor found a lump in my neck. The anxiety built up as I went through more tests, and the diagnosis confirmed my worst fears – thyroid cancer. I was in shock, scared, and unsure of what the future held.
One of the biggest challenges was juggling my thriving business with my health crisis. My business was my passion, and it was about to reach new heights. I had to be open with my clients, sharing the diagnosis and my treatment plan. Their support was incredible. My office familystepped up, ensuring the business kept thriving even when I couldn’t be fully involved. I had to delegate and put my trust in my team, which was hard but necessary.
In December 2021, I underwent surgery to remove the cancerous thyroid gland, and it was a success. Recovery was tough, and I had to adapt to a new routine that balanced my health with my business responsibilities. But my family, friends, and colleagues were my pillars of strength. They took care of me, offered encouragement, and reminded me that I wasn’t alone in this battle.
The highlight of my journey is coming in December 2023 when I will receive the news that I am two years cancer-free (manifesting this) . My business continued to thrive, and I had a newfound appreciation for life. This experience taught me to prioritize my health, not take success for granted, and treasure the people who stood by me during my darkest moments.
My battle with thyroid cancer was a tough chapter in my life, but it was also a story of resilience, strength, and the unwavering support of my loved ones. I emerged from it as a survivor, with a deeper appreciation for life and a strong commitment to both my health and my business.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
When it comes to attracting new clients in the real estate business, I’ve found two key sources to be incredibly effective for me: my Sphere of Influence (SOI) and my relationships with other agents.
My Sphere of Influence (SOI) is like my secret weapon. This group includes friends, family, acquaintances, and past clients who already know and trust me. That trust is a game-changer in real estate because it makes people more likely to choose me as their agent. When I provide excellent service to my SOI, they become my biggest promoters, spreading the word about my skills and reliability. Plus, past clients from my SOI often come back to me for their future real estate needs. They also share valuable market insights, helping me stay ahead of the competition.
Networking with other agents is another essential source of new clients. When I collaborate with fellow agents, we often refer clients to each other. This can be a win-win relationship. We also team up on listings, which allows me to tap into their networks and expand my clientele. Sharing market insights with other agents keeps me informed and sharp in serving my clients. Lastly, networking with experienced agents is like a continuous learning opportunity. You never stop growing in this profession.
