Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elizabeth Correia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Elizabeth, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I literally moved from PAIN to PASSION to PURPOSE to PAY. For many years, I never believed I could be something, do something or get anywhere pass the pain I was living in.
I decided to write a memoir as part of my own healing and also to create awareness around the affects of sexual abuse and what happens to a child who grows into adulthood with that shame and pain. This is the story of my life. A life of sexual abuse (father), physical abuse (both parents), poverty, growing up on the projects around drugs, crime and a whole lot of mental illness. Living in 10+ foster homes once I decided to come out about the truth of what was happening in my home. Witnessing the murder of my boyfriend who was murdered and died in my arms……fighting to live on a daily basis…. all of it came back to the shame and pain I endured as a child & teenager.
I was saved in the eyes of the church. Shortly after my boyfriend was murdered I found a spiritual mentor who became my mentor and hero. She was everything I aspired to be as a women’s empowerment teacher and speaker. She loved me back to life throughout my twenties. I started speaking in small intimate youth gatherings, volunteering in youth prisons and shelters and sharing my story as a way to heal and inspire youth. I went on a healing journey for the following 10+ years. I fell in love with all things in the WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT world. Went back to school. Created a new circle of friends. Grew closer to God…..got married… and decided to write my story. Survived emergency brain surgery and decided to publish my story. This is what gave birth to my speaking career which later gave birth my my coaching career.
This is it in a nutshell. I moved from PAIN to PASSION to PURPOSE to PAY.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I teach women the tools, lifestyle tips and techniques to help them heal in order to move from pain to passion to purpose- so they can live their most fulfilling life filled with ease and flow.
I do this through my digital products and courses, speaking and one to one private coaching.
I am a mother (first), a Transformational Speaker, Coach and Author. I share my story by delivering transformational lectures on my journey through healing; emotionally, physically, spiritually and mentally. I bring my audience a unique perspective on issues many of them face each day.
No Stranger to survival, I empower women (and girls) to live life with purpose through my memoir If You Played In My Playground; a disturbing, shocking, hopeful and inspiring story detailing my life as an abused child in and out of foster care, a survivor of domestic violence and a teen mother.
I am the founder of Correia Enterprises – a self empowered and personal development platform for women and girls.
Through my transformational work, I passionately help women to build resilience and make healthier choices in order to move from pain to passion to purpose – so they can live a more fulfilling life filled with ease and flow.
As a speaker and Coach, I use my ‘story’ of moving from victim to victor to inspire women and girls to overcome obstacles and challenges in order to achieve their greatest potential. I have delivered life transforming messages to diverse audiences of women, girls and youth, educators, administrators, teachers, parents and social service providers; through workshops, retreats, webinars, keynote addresses and training programs. Through private and group coaching sessions, workshops in person or by phone / Internet, I teach individuals how to push through their ‘story’ and limiting beliefs that are holding them back.
My style of speaking and coaching helps my clients and audience to maximize their strengths and develop a positive self-image. In short, I have dedicated my life’s mission to the empowerment of women and girls by using my story in service of my community and to serve the world.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
For many years, I was crippled by shame and pain and had no idea what my purpose was in life. I felt worthless and unqualified to do anything much less to start a business. I was a highschool drop out which made things feel crippling….
I started volunteering as a way to find my passion and purpose and quickly discovered a love for inspiring girls. I would volunteer my time cooking in youth shelters, speaking at youth groups and ministries….and then went back to school to be a youth worker. I started listening to successful motivational speakers and realized I could actually get paid to share my story and so I went on a journey to become a motivational speaker. There were no rooms for a girl like me coming from the projects and having a story that would drastically change and shift the lives of other girls. So I set my own table and built an incredible network of teachers and educators who fell in love with my energy and story and who desperately needed me in their classrooms. I was determined to break generational curses not only in my life but in the life of girls and young women across GTA.
There is a lot more than happened in between this time in my life…..but in short I did it!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I believe everything I endured as a young girl being sexually abused my my father, living in over 10 foster homes, in and out of jail between 15-17 years of age, surviving a severely abusive relationship as a teen mom, witnessing my befriends murder and so much more prepared me for life. The resilience I gained through it all have been my survival tools in life.
