We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elizabeth Anzelotti a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Elizabeth, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Growing up in a family immersed in various crafts and woodworking, creativity was always a part of my life. Although I initially pursued a degree in Law, my heart was drawn to the world of crafts and design. I began decorating my son’s parties, and then for friends, gradually realizing my passion could be a profession. Now, being able to play a part in creating cherished memories for families is not just a profession, but a deeply fulfilling journey that I’m grateful to be on

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I provide Creative and Personalized Party Decor. Encouraged by positive feedback, I honed my skills through classes in balloon and floral decoration, theme development, color and materials and more. Now, I offer comprehensive event decor services, tailoring each project uniquely to each personality and preferences. This business has not only fueled my creativity but also enriched my role as a mother, as my son proudly refers to me as an “artist”, and he is already creating his own designs. Finding my passion later in life, I’m grateful to have turned it into a fulfilling profession.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I had known more about the various ways to utilize the internet for inspiration and exposure earlier in my creative journey. Discovering apps and platforms like Pinterest and Instagram, along with online tutorials and communities, has been a game-changer, offering a wealth of resources and connections that have fueled my creativity and helped me grow my business.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me is having a profitable creative outlet. Additionally, the flexibility to work on my projects on my own time is invaluable, especially as a mom balancing various schedules. While I miss the security and benefits of a steady 9 to 5 office job, the entrepreneurial journey brings its own rewards, allowing me to pursue my passion and manage my time in a way that aligns with my family’s needs.
