We recently connected with Elisha L NeVille and have shared our conversation below.

Elisha L, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

The ideal started back in 2020 that’s when I started my painting journey. I wanted to create a concept that was relatable and original that most people can’ relate to.The name of my brand is called Unknown 3motion names speak for itself. It’s emotions that we as a human go through daily. We have the good the bad ugly and even strange. Each character that I have has it’s own characterization and it’s on identity. My goal here is to bring the emotions to life and give it personality, and let it tell its own story. I created and designed these characters to symbolize all form of emotion.I wanted to show another form of how and why people express certain emotions.Each one of my characters can be displayed in a certain aspect. Rather if is a collage of all my characters or simply a solo piece with just one. I wanted to make my characters & paintings to be full of life and color. Also, each one of my characters to make a unique facial expression.

Elisha L, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Elisha L NeVille is a self-taught artist who focuses his craft on illustrations and paintings. At a young age, he discovered his talent for art; he used music and drawings to cope with the struggles of his battle with dyslexia. Met with the challenges of being consistently told art isn’t a viable career path, he pursued various options like basketball and even obtained a degree in engineering graphics & design technology. However, his art career came full circle in 2019, with the overwhelming sense to pay tribute to Nipsey Hussle after his death; it was the first time he used paint as a medium. That reopened the doors to his first passion in art, taking it as an opportunity to draw inspiration from all things around him. Elisha creates his art to provide a world where his characters can coexist and thrive. The same characters he developed as a coping mechanism when he was young and struggled in school are the very ones he uses in his work today. Each character has a backstory based on the emotion it portrays, and he uses them to highlight different struggles in the black community

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

The one thing about this industry that I’ve learned was to do what you’re truly passionate about. when I first started I painted and created what I thought people would think was cool. I realized that I should be creating what inspire me mostly and then that’s when I started to sell more paintings.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

My best source of where I meet new clients is off Instagram, and mainly art shows.
