Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eliseo Paiva. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Eliseo, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I learned what I do by diving headfirst into it. From playing guitar as a kid to forming a band, it was always about feeling the music and chasing that sound in my head. I probably could’ve sped things up by finding some mentors or focusing on the tech side earlier, but honestly, the struggle shaped me. The key skills? Grit, creativity, and always pushing the boundaries. Obstacles? Man, the indie scene in Peru was a grind — no support, no shortcuts. Moving to LA and learning English was another mountain, but that’s rock ‘n roll: keep pushing forward, no matter what.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Alright, let’s kick it off – I’m Eliseo Paiva, frontman and founder of Ellen Pub. My roots are deep in the streets of Lima, where I grew up surrounded by music – my dad on guitar, my mom singing. That’s where it all began, messing around with cassettes, dreaming of something bigger. Fast forward to today – I’m not just making music, I’m crafting stories. Our sound? A wild mix of indie rock and synth-pop with a Peruvian twist. It’s raw, real, and honest.
What do we do? We create music that resonates with the chaos of life – love, loss, hope, and everything in between. Ellen Pub isn’t just about tunes; we’re about pushing boundaries, breaking molds, and doing things our way. We started in Peru, battled through a tough indie scene, and now we’re making waves in Los Angeles.
Proud? Hell yeah. We’ve fought through it all – corruption in the scene, losing bandmates, and yet we’re still here, stronger than ever. Our new album Latin Shapes? That’s us in our purest form. I want our fans to know that we’re not here to play it safe – we’re here to shake things up, and this is just the beginning. Buckle up.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Oh, man, if only I’d known about half the stuff I do now when I started out, we’d have shaved years off the grind. Back in Lima, we were just a bunch of kids with guitars and big dreams, but no real idea of how to navigate the jungle that is the music industry. We didn’t have access to platforms easily, you know? Ways to get our music out without dealing with sketchy promoters or paying to play at gigs. Would’ve been a whole different game if we knew that from the jump.
And production, man. We were recording in makeshift spots, basically anywhere we could plug in a mic. If I’d known more about the importance of networking early on, we could’ve avoided a lot of trial and error. But hey, all that struggle – that’s where the soul of the music comes from. You take the hits, learn the ropes, and come out swinging harder.
At the end of the day, the journey’s what sets us apart. We’ve lived it. We’ve hustled through it. And now, with our sights set higher, we’re owning every step of it. Rock ’n’ roll’s never been about the easy road anyway, right?

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Oh, absolutely, man. The goal’s always been to shake things up, to create something real that cuts through the noise. Ellen Pub? We’re not just making tracks for the charts or chasing trends – nah, it’s about truth. It’s about capturing the raw energy, the highs, the lows, and everything in between. We’re not afraid to mix indie rock with Latin vibes or go deep into emotions most people would shy away from.
Our mission? Simple: make music that punches you in the gut and sticks in your head. We want people to feel something when they hear us – whether it’s love, chaos, or that spark that makes you wanna go out and change the world. If we can leave a mark on someone’s soul, even for a minute, we’ve done our job.
At the end of the day, it’s about leaving a legacy, man. We want to be remembered as the band that didn’t just follow the path, but set it on fire and carved our own. That’s the mission – and we’re just getting started.
