Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elise Hines. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Elise, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope my legacy reflects faith, courage, and endless possibilities. I want to be remembered as someone who trusted God wholeheartedly, embraced life fearlessly, and believed in the impossible.
My journey proves we’re not confined to one path—whether changing careers or pursuing multiple passions, there’s always room to explore. More than anything, I want to inspire others to trust God, take bold risks, and live life to the fullest.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Elise Hines, CEO of PlatinumWorks Production and Co-Chair of The Alliance of Women Directors (South). As an award-winning writer, producer, and director, I’ve worked across entertainment and corporate media, creating everything from commercials and corporate videos to documentaries and films for Fortune 500 companies.
My passion for storytelling started in college. I got my first hands-on experience at NASA, running cameras, and at my university radio station, sharpening my broadcasting skills. Those early moments sparked a love for creating compelling narratives and set the stage for my career.
Some of my most notable accomplishments include hosting a nationally-recognized relationship radio talk show for CBS/Viacom, which aired two hours per night, five nights per week. During this time, I doubled listenership in the first year, led Nielsen ratings for my time slot, and had the privilege of interviewing iconic figures such as Will Packer, 50 Cent, Magic Johnson, and Spike Lee.
In the corporate world, I’ve led high-budget projects to bring impactful stories to life. Some of my standout work includes producing and directing the Georgia Power History Documentary and creating the first crowdfunding video for Southern Company and the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office. Along the way, my work has earned multiple Gold and Platinum Hermes Awards, Telly Awards, Davey Awards, and Communicator Awards—recognition that reflects my dedication to excellence.
What sets me apart is my ability to seamlessly blend creativity with strategy, ensuring that each project I undertake not only tells a compelling story but also delivers measurable results. I want people to know that my work is driven by passion, faith, and a commitment to excellence.
If there’s one thing I hope my clients, collaborators, and audiences take away, it’s that I believe in the transformative power of dreaming big and stepping boldly into opportunities with faith and purpose. Through my work, I aim to inspire others to realize their potential and pursue their dreams with confidence.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is the ability to tell stories that connect with people on a deeply personal level. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about taking an idea, a vision, or even just a feeling and bringing it to life in a way that resonates with others.
It’s the moments when someone says, “This inspired me,” or “This made me feel seen,” that truly make it worthwhile. As a creative, I have the privilege of shaping narratives that can entertain, educate, and even spark change. Knowing that my work can leave a lasting impact—whether it’s making someone laugh, reflect, or take action—is what keeps me passionate about what I do.
Additionally, the process of creation itself is deeply rewarding. I love the challenge of transforming abstract concepts into tangible works of art, whether it’s through a script, a film, or a corporate project. It’s in those moments of problem-solving and collaboration that I feel most alive and aligned with my purpose.
Ultimately, being a creative allows me to merge my faith, passion, and talents into work that I hope not only inspires others but also honors the gift I’ve been given.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Managing a team and maintaining high morale requires intentionality, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to the well-being and success of each team member. Here are some key principles I’ve found effective:
1. Foster Open Communication:** Create an environment where team members feel comfortable sharing their ideas, concerns, and feedback. Transparency builds trust and helps everyone stay aligned toward common goals.
2. Show Appreciation:** Recognize and celebrate the contributions of your team, both big and small. A simple “thank you” or acknowledgment of hard work can go a long way in making people feel valued.
3. Set Clear Expectations:** Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and goals so that everyone knows what is expected of them. This reduces confusion and empowers team members to perform confidently.
4. Encourage Growth:** Invest in your team’s development by providing opportunities for learning and advancement. Whether it’s training, mentorship, or new challenges, showing that you’re committed to their growth boosts morale and loyalty.
5. Lead by Example:** Demonstrate the qualities you want to see in your team—integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic. A leader who models these traits inspires others to follow suit.
6. Create a Positive Work Culture:** Cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment where team members feel respected and appreciated. Encourage collaboration, celebrate diversity, and make room for fun and creativity.
7. Be Flexible and Adaptable:** Life happens, and showing understanding and flexibility when team members face challenges helps build trust and goodwill. A supportive leader fosters loyalty and morale.
8. Keep the Vision Front and Center:** Remind your team of the bigger picture and the impact of their work. Connecting day-to-day tasks to a meaningful purpose helps keep everyone motivated and engaged.
9. Provide Constructive Feedback:** When addressing challenges or mistakes, focus on solutions rather than blame. Encourage a growth mindset and let your team know it’s okay to learn from setbacks.
10. Celebrate Wins Together:** Whether it’s a project milestone, a personal achievement, or a team success, take time to celebrate. Shared victories strengthen bonds and reinforce a positive culture.
Ultimately, maintaining high morale is about making your team feel valued, supported, and inspired. When people know they’re part of something meaningful and feel respected in their roles, they’re more likely to give their best and thrive as a team.
