We were lucky to catch up with Elise Hatsuko recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Elise thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I believe the timing of my creative career has unfolded just as it was meant to. While there’s always a curiosity about what might have happened had I started earlier, each experience I’ve had has shaped my perspective and enriched my work. Whether in writing, blogging, or art, my journey has been a tapestry of learning and growth. The blend of my faith and diverse interests has led me to where I am today, and I’m grateful for every step of that journey.
Elise, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Elise Hatsuko, a multifaceted creative with a deep-rooted passion for inspiring others through various forms of expression. My exploration into the artistic world has led me to focus on nonrepresentational painting and abstract expressionism. Influenced by nature, place, and culture, I primarily work with acrylic on canvas or paper, creating pieces that resonate with the spiritual and emotional landscapes within me.
In addition to my personal artistic pursuits, I also offer my art on prints through my lifestyle brand, coco collective. What sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to my faith and the authentic and compassionate way I approach my work. My art isn’t merely a product but a testament to a journey of self-discovery and spiritual exploration. I’m most proud of how my creativity has become a conduit for connection, healing, and enlightenment.
I invite potential clients, followers, and fans to explore my world and embrace the inspiration that comes from my writings, art, and other creative pursuits. Together, we can journey towards a more awakened, compassionate, and joyful existence.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the ability to connect with others on a profound and spiritual level. Through my art, I can express emotions, thoughts, and beliefs that words may not fully capture. It’s a unique form of communication that transcends barriers, resonating with people’s hearts and souls. The joy of seeing someone moved by my work, finding a piece of themselves in it, or being inspired to reflect and grow, is immeasurable. It’s a powerful reminder of our shared humanity and the transformative potential of creativity.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In my view, society can best support artists and creatives by fostering a culture of appreciation, understanding, and investment in the arts. This means not only recognizing the intrinsic value of art but also providing financial support, opportunities, and platforms for artists to thrive. Education about the importance of art and creativity should start early, encouraging children to explore and appreciate various forms of expression. Collaborative spaces, grants, and community engagement can empower artists, connecting them with a broader audience. By embracing diversity and encouraging innovation, society can build a thriving creative ecosystem that enriches our lives and elevates our collective consciousness.
