Elise, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
“Nothing ventured, nothing gained” is the mantra that I live by.
Most recently I made a major career and life change from being a doctor in clinic to a doctor on the runway and in front of the camera.
Other risks I have taken include selling my beloved multi-disciplinary wellness practice to focus on two start-up ventures including NearSight and now EnWell.health.
I often take the road less traveled like being the only female doctor in the NHL as the Team Optometrist for the Anaheim Ducks all the way to being the only female coach in my son’s Little League in over 20 years.
Elise, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My goal has always been to live life to fullest. I believe the best way to achieve this is through a healthy lifestyle.
I shared this passion by integrating traditional as well as holistic options to my patients and how to use lifestyle as your medicine.
After I was crowned as Ms. Woman California United States 2021, I got offers to model. I also started receiving fan mail from women around the world saying that seeing me crowned gave them a new lease on life. People told me they were dancing again, working out, and even dating again!
I realized that I could reach more people on Social media and by modeling to inspire and educate how healthy habits can improve your quality of life than I could in the exam room seeing 25 patients a day. My social media is full of actionable steps that you can incorporate easily into your daily life to age gracefully and happily! My latest project is developing an online platform called EnWell to empower people to use self-care as their healthcare rather than waiting until they are sick to take action. I want to show how many problems are preventable and even reversible with diet, exercise, and stress management.
We are starting with vision wellness, then expanding to other areas of the body.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Modeling is a privilege, not an entitlement. I have faced many challenges in the modeling and fashion industry which are youth and height obsessed.
Nonetheless, my modeling career has grown tremendously since I work hard to be the best that I can be. I have trained with supermodel Coco Rocha, was part of the Icon Modeling Group, and am continually leveling up with top modeling coaches. I also bring a strong work ethic to promote the designers that I model for as well as bring a positive and nurturing energy.
I have not taken rejections personally since I model with a passion and a purpose to inspire people to adopt positive health habits. I also help people embrace rather than fear aging.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Other than training and knowledge, passion and conviction are important traits to succeed as a Founder and Model. Here is wisdom that have helped me along the way:
1. Remember your “Why” as you face challenges and rejections.
2. Accept and mitigate risk with research and planning
3. Learn from your mistakes
4. Surround yourself with ambitious like-passionned people as your professional family
