Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elisa Schwartz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Elisa, thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful, you have to be completely obsessed with your company, project, customers, and vision. I think without that passion, achieving big milestones would be very difficult.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have a company called Kermit And Friends LLC which I have a large community of people that I have developed over the span of 20 years. We are in the Kermit And Friends discord server and I stream my IRL livestreaming program under that umbrella. I vlog different events such as food tastings, art festivals, ladies events at the same time as I share my life as a known public figure. You can see the inner workings of my hirings, firings, and even love interests because there is no fourth wall.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
In this kind of business there is a VERY high turnover. I’ve worked with 700 plus people over this time period. It teaches you not to get attached to any situation, even if it’s great. You really have to keep it moving and have a show that’s entertaining no matter what. If someone quits, betrays you, or doesn’t show up, you still have to figure out a way to serve.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I lost a really great collaborator named Blanca who I felt had a lot to gain and a lot to give in the livestreaming world. She was producing my show, bringing a lot of great guests, finding us awesome locations to shoot, but she just did not understand the live chat. When I lost her I had to keep going and replace her but I felt the loss immediately because the production aspect fell back into my hands.
