We were lucky to catch up with Elijah Trujillo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Elijah , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew I wanted to pursue this lifestyle at the age of 18 years old. Already working and making money for a couple years doing under the table jobs I felt I didn’t fit into the workers environment and mentality for several reasons. After starting to post my work via social media it was getting a local response encouraging me to give it a go self employ myself by trying to make a living off my work.

Elijah , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Elijah Trujillo I’m a Denver based artist. I got into the creative industry because I wanted to make my life for myself through what I love to do. I knew I didn’t want to sustain a lifestyle by working for other people and letting an employee determine my value. I’m a self taught artist and practice many mediums. I draw, paint, do graphic design work, airbrush , screen print , make rugs, etc. I don’t like staying in one medium too long and love to learn new ones. I feel all this just spawns from my base as an artist and love to create. My business is Conserved Extrovert LLC. I provide my artistic services in the mediums I practice to the people of the world. I also release lots of merch w my brand that I manufacture all myself. Because of that I stand by all my work, from start to finish I do it all. From design and concept , to mock up , to finished product and many of the finishing touches is all in house done by my two hands.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Something I’ve done and still am working on is just staying consistent. Consistency with creating, and especially in todays time creating content with it as well. It’s allot of work to maintain content on multiple platforms but you just have to find a way to make it work, don’t be afraid to reach for help , collaborations , or taking them losses.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My main goal is happiness at the end of the day the money isn’t always the thing. How ever on the flip side in a capitalistic society I have to be realistic. So I work hard to maintain what I have , and will do what’s necessary to attain the lifestyle I want. I know it’ll work out and believe I’ll achieve a the life I want by doing what I love
