We recently connected with Elijah Taylor and have shared our conversation below.

Elijah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

Behind every piece I try to tell a story through the garments . Every piece has a story that comes with it and emotion that live through it whether it’s happiness, pain or love

Elijah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Growing up I always had a fascination in clothing/ fashion and the stories the clothes tell .I wanted to tell mine so I started Rue Bleak my senior year of high school. What sets Rue Bleak apart from others is the darkness and honesty that it tells with everything from the clothes itself to the visuals we offer . I am most proud of the unique nature of Rue Bleak in its honesty to tell the truth no matter how hard it is .

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My mission is to establish Rue Bleak as its own movement that people resonate with and understand to its roots.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding part of what I do is seeing others wear my clothes whether they know my personally or not . I Think it’s beautiful that they have a garment with my story attached to it .
