Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elijah Carter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Elijah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

I came up with the idea for my business Flame of the Soul LLC after seeing a lot of Youtube videos of my favorite tarot reader Shonetta Divine Tarot. At the time I was working a boring 9 to 5 job at a hospital doing office management. At work, my coworkers would come to my office and tell me their problems. I always had this ability to intuitively guide my coworkers with my life coaching skills. I loved that they felt lighter after talking to me and changed their life with the guidance I gave them.

While at work I would watch these Youtube tarot pick-a-card tarot readings for guidance on my own life. I loved that the tarot reader made it fun and personable with their audience. I thought to myself ” I could do this! Why not?” I was very tired of wearing formal suit wear to work every day. I disliked I had the politics that came with my office job. I was looking for an opportunity to start my own business and be able to help people in a relaxed environment.

I did a lot of research on being a tarot reader and saw how I could do my client readings and reiki sessions online.
I noticed a lot of people online were getting away from regular therapy and counseling and moved towards the spiritual tarot readings. I thought I had already been a Reiki practitioner, so I thought I could use my Reiki and tarot reading services together to develop a spiritual life coaching business.

I am a self-taught tarot reader which required me to read tarot reading how-to books and video lessons on Youtube. I created an Instagram page in October 2019 and then gave free readings on Instagram Live to gain clientele. The clients really resonated with my readings and loved the passion in my voice when I would give them healing advice through the tarot cards. I’m a very passionate person when I do work that I love, so I knew I was doing something right by developing Flame of the Soul. I came up with the name Flame of the Soul because my goal is to open people’s hearts and raise their consciousness by healing the soul of any emotional blockages that block our true happiness.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I am Elijah Carter and I am a Spiritual Life Coach & Reiki Master. I got into the life coaching industry after connecting with a coworker who told me about Reiki energy healing. Reiki works by channeling positive energy into a person’s body by placing hands on the affected areas of the body that needs a boost of energy. I also offer tarot readings that help people gain clarity on an area of their life (career, love, spiritual, and finances)

The services I provide are In-person Reiki or Distance Reiki healing (done via Zoom video), Tarot Readings (By Zoom video or phone call), and Home Energy Clearing (In Person).

In my services, I hold space for people to release emotional blockages in their mind, body, and spirit. I help channel messages I receive from a client’s angels, spirit guides, or passed loved ones in every tarot reading or reiki session. I help empower people by giving channeled messages that the client may have already known or felt so it helps them to trust in their intuition and the Divine/God.

I am most proud of the feedback and reviews I get from my clients. Most of my clients feel a sense of relief and a weight lifted off their shoulders after a session with me. I love hearing that the readings they received were accurate and they give me feedback weeks or months later about how much their life has changed for the better. There’s no better feeling than to change a person’s life and put a smile on their face.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

When I first started my business as a spiritual life coach I lost a lot of friends and family that did not believe in my work and ability to profit from a unique niche like mine. A lot of people didn’t believe in my work because they were religious (Christian or Catholic) so it went against their faith. I totally understood this because I was once Christian and I know that we are taught to think a certain way by the book of the Bible.

The work I do accepts all faiths and does not discount the presence of God which is still hard for people to grasp. I felt called to the work that I am doing and I didn’t care about the opinions of others so much because I was doing what made me happy. I have stayed consistent with posting on my social media and giving my services to the community I live in. I’ve had the opportunities to be on radio stations, magazines, and podcasts, and even connect with celebrities as well. So I am very grateful I kept following my heart and created my business.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to unlearn what my religious upbringing taught me. I grew up going to church every Sunday and Wednesday for bible studies. I actually loved the church and the spiritual aspect of life it taught me. My religious upbringing is partially why I became a Spiritual Life Coach. I did have to unlearn the do’s and don’ts of the bible that stated the work I was doing was “evil” or “demonic” which in my opinion it’s not. My work is no different than a church “prophet” who says a prophecy over someone’s life. A message they believe came from God.

My work is pretty much the same. Before every session, I say a prayer to God and my angels to channel accurate messages for my client’s reiki healing or tarot reading. I had to look at my work from a different perspective that was still doing God’s work for the highest good of all that come to me for channeled guidance.
