We recently connected with Elidea and have shared our conversation below.
Elidea , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Each of the art projects that I have created in my career as an artist is meaningful for me, my projects are a stories that talk about my art and who I am, my thoughts, fears and what i really love in my life. What nature and all the living beings that inhabit it mean to me come to life in my last art project “SAVE WILD ANIMALS” created during Art Basel 2022 and showed at Lucid Art Gallery during Chroma art show.
The question that with my art collages I am asking to consider is “Do you really think the earth was created just for you?”.
I focused the attention on understanding the multitude of ways we belong to our planet Earth, and how it is our responsibility to share this planet with every human being.
“SAVE WILD ANIMALS” collection also asks us to reckon with the fact that wildlife now has increasingly come into conflict with humans due to unfortunate realities such as habitat loss and climate change.
I suggest that wild animals rightfully belong to nature and that by preserving wildlife we ensure that future generations realize their birthright of enjoying our natural world and the amazing species that live within it.

Elide, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I like to feel and define myself as a contemporary artist.I was born in Milan and moved to Miami in 2010.
Upon finishing my studies at the European Design Institute in Italy, I began working as a graphic/video designer with several studios in Milan. The beginning of my professional career was very amusing and constructive especially when I collaborated for many years with Studio Predesign agency, a renowned Italian agency specialized in discography video/graphics that collaborates with some of the Italian and International leading singers like Laura Pausini. A fusion of my personal passion for contemporary art and photography with a graphic design background allowed me to develop new expressive forms.
Cutting, pasting, and overlaying allows my to create my unique vision; often surrealistic and full of stimulus. My art is a multilayer work with hidden details, my technique evolved from classic photos into a mixed media creations with the usage of paper, golden leaf, acrylic colors and pencil. European in influence is one of the keys to understanding my works that embodies the spirit of masters such as the Italian artist Mimmo Rotella and the German artist Gustav Klimt.
My journey as an artist began in 2008, first in Italy exhibiting my art in various galleries between Milan and Venice and then moving on to a new and completely different experience here in the United States.
Art for me has always been an effective tool for improvement and awareness and Thanks to the thousands of opportunities that an expanding city like Miami is offering, my growth as an artist happened very quickly, giving me a lot of satisfaction and joy.
The participation to Art Basel, the collaboration with Carnival Cruise Line and the possibility of creating art for brands such as Bulleit Bourbon are some of the interesting work experiences that It has led me to add experiences opening doors that have supported me in improving my attitudes, making me available to new relationships and able to enjoy the beauty of cities like Miami and New York.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect, that gives me so much joy is to create and seeing my art appreciated. I love talking about my art with anyone who shows an interest in knowing what I do and how I express myself. I understand when someone truly appreciates my art, creating a connection, being able to convey and knowing that someone feels the same emotions as me is really the greatest joy for me. I love to create in solitude but then I love even more to share my art with those around me. Knowing that one of my paintings will be hang in a new home makes me proud of my work and is like somehow becoming part of the life of another person, another family.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I think the NFT world is a new great and fun adventure. Everything that concerns the opening of new horizons fascinates me, and the idea of experiencing my art from a new point of view inspires me to work every day on something new. I have already explored the NFT virtual world with my artworks from my Coalesce project. Thanks to my experience as a graphic designer and my passion for photography I’m working on new digital images that will become part of the NFT world in 2023.
