Our journey started at the University of Southern California, where we instantly became best friends though our backgrounds differed. All of Eliana’s expertise was in fashion and Brigitte’s work had been in environmental science. We quickly bonded as we shared a deep concern about the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Surrounded by our consumption-obsessed peers, who had a constant influx of boxes from Amazon and other fashion giants, we felt compelled to make a difference. That’s when the idea for ZERO was born. At ZERO, we are more than just a brand; we are a movement dedicated to changing the fashion industry and the practices within it. Our mission is clear: fuel intentional consumption by connecting individuals to brands devoted to the planet and its people.
What sets us apart is our unwavering dedication to our values. We had to unlearn the idea that perfectionism was essential for success. Perfectionism often leads to inaction. The turning point came when we realized that perfectionism, while well-intentioned, was hindering our progress. We recognized the importance of getting our product live and in the hands of our customers. By doing so, we could gather real-time feedback and understand the exact needs and preferences of our customers. Rather than building your version of perfection in isolation, it is vital to embrace the iterative process. Unlearning the notion that perfectionism was essential enabled us to meet the evolving needs of our customers and continually improve our platform.
