We recently connected with Eli Prasit and have shared our conversation below.
Eli, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
To the kids that long to find their identity, I hope that my work inspires them to act on what they what they to find to be their outlet. I hope that my legacy will be that I stayed motivated and never content. I always strived to not only make my own life better but everyone else’s around me.
Eli, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a photographer & videographer originially from Houston, Texas. I dropped out of college and I moved to Los Angeles, California 3 years ago to pursue a career as a Content Creator. I use the knowledge I’ve gained from Youtube and being in the field to bring peoples creative sides to life in the forms of pictures and videos. Though the title photographer holds a lot of weight, I find myself to mostly enjoy being the kind that “runs and guns”. This means that I prefer to shoot on the fly on the road, at concerts and behind the scenes of events. I’m mostly proud of taking the risk on myself when at the time everything seemed so out of reach. The main thing I want to let readers know is that they should strive to be as genuine and hungry as they can throughout their careers for this has continued to open plenty of doors for me.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative?
The most rewarding aspect would be that my work does not feel like a traditional 9-5 job. For me, it’s always been about what I thought was cool or what I thought people should see. I never intentionally go out of my way to be the center of attention so for my work to be appreciated and not overlooked by others, it’s an unreal feeling.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media for me is used to promote and showcase the highlights of my career. Anyone starting out should study other successful pages and see what inspires them. A lot of what I know as far as building my audience came from my partner at the time. She always encouraged me to be consistent and to learn what my audience liked to see me do. These are some tips that have helped along the way but I’m still striving to to build an even more bigger audience.
