We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elham Glam. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elham below.
Elham, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success comes from adaptability, persistence, and a clear understanding of your craft. As a Freelance Hair and Makeup Artist, I quickly learned that building strong client relationships and staying ahead of trends were key to growing my business. By specializing in photoshoot and production hair and makeup, I realized that never giving up and consistently using social media to build an online presence and showcase my work were essential for obtaining clients and growing my reputation.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a freelance hair and makeup artist specializing in photoshoots and production work, with a passion for transforming looks to fit creative visions. After years of experience, including running my own salon, I now focus on collaborating with photographers, filmmakers, and production teams to deliver high-fashion, editorial and on-set makeup and hairstyling. My adaptability, attention to detail and ability to solve on-set challenges set me apart whether working under a fast-paced environment or adjusting to different environments. I’m most proud of my diverse portfolio and am dedicated to using my skills to connect with clients and showcase my work.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I’ve built my reputation by focusing on strong client relationships and really listening to what my clients want. While I always aim to bring their vision to life, I also take time to educate them on looks that might suit them best. My clients appreciate this balance of collaboration and guidance, knowing they can trust me to deliver under any circumstances. Being reliable, adaptable and genuinely invested in their satisfaction has helped me stand out in the industry.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by sharing my journey as a freelance artist and consistently showcasing my work. I would post behind the scenes content from photoshoots and productions, which helped followers connect with both my process and my personality.
For anyone starting out, my advice is to be authentic and engage with your audience. It takes time to grow your presence, but staying true to yourself and your craft will naturally attract the right followers.
