We recently connected with Elesha Jacobs and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Elesha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump into the story of starting your own firm – what should we know?
I fell in love with technology and computers at the age of 11 years and my passion to learn how the computer works were the driving force behind my success as a corporate IT professional. I left high school with the sole intention to acquire as many certifications in the technology field, and I did so passionately.
Shortly after high school, I attended college to complete my Diploma in Computer Science studies which afforded me the opportunity to land my first job at a computer school. I taught hundreds of students the foundational level of computing, and accounting professionals in computerized accounting software and prepared students to become certified computer and networking technicians. During this time, I was studying and acquiring my CompTIA and Microsoft certifications,
Years later, I landed my dream job of building and managing an ICT infrastructure and that journey was difficult because I was advancing in an industry dominated by men. Many of my male counterparts would tease me and even some tried to discourage me from progressing into the networking field.
During these years, I acquired hands-on experience in business management and qualifications but every position I held was in a managerial post and at that time, I did not realize I was preparing to manage my own business one day.
Over the years, those I’ve worked with told me to start a side hustle leveraging my skills but I was not interested, and in 2019 everything changed when I dislocated my knee in the gym, and in the process of healing, I realized that staying in corporate was not for me and I had to make a change and Innovategy Solutions® was birthed.
Coming into full-time entrepreneurship was a leap of faith and I thank God every day for giving me the discipline, vision, and ability to serve other businesses with my unique gifts, skills, and talent.

Elesha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Innovategy Solutions® was founded in 2019 to help business owners leverage the power of technology through strategic planning and IT infrastructure building.
After two years of fully serving small businesses, our focus has shifted but our core of leveraging technology remains the same. Today, we have served over 5o small businesses through our services and courses to leverage technology by simplifying their systems and automating their processes for sustainable growth.
After spending 15+ years in the ICT industry, I use those experiences from the corporate arena to elevate small businesses through the services I provide.
We were able to help one of our clients gain over 6-figures through one of our signature services – email marketing. This has been a proud achievement for our client and also for me as it solidifies the main reason I founded this company.
Technology isn’t going anywhere anytime soon and we are the partner of choice to help small businesses leverage its power through streamlined systems and automated processes for competitive advantage in the ever-changing digital marketplace.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I realize my potential for computing and diving right into the Information technology field, there were a few moments I had to remind myself of the goal. As mentioned, at age 11 I knew I wanted to be a systems analyst and one day run an IT department. Years later, being met with men challenging me in the field was the defining moment in my career. I had to build the resilience of not giving up. being the only girl in the programming class dominating repairing computers to teaching older peers about becoming coming computer technicians demonstrated my position and love for technology. I remember, writing my first certification exam and failing and I cried for a few weeks about that exam, my uncle said to me, are you going to cry forever? It was at that moment I got up and shake it off, studied harder and passed that exam, and never looked back. The love of technology has been my resilience to obstacles.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele was providing exceptional customer service from the first interaction and beyond the sale. Many of my clients are referrals and the level of support I provide gives the company its a competitive advantage.
