We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eleni Misetzis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eleni below.
Eleni, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
One Word. RESILIENCE. A majority of the people in your life will not believe in you. The tough times will make you not believe in yourself. Pushing through those times and waking up and showing up everyday regardless is what it takes to be successful.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I always was artistic from a young age. I went to the School of Visual Arts for Interior Design. Unfortunately I didn’t find work in my industry when I graduated but I always stayed artistic. I started painting windows in my neighborhood for some extra cash for the holidays. That is what started the fire. One business brought on the other. I was laid off during Covid and made the decision to pursue this full time. I now paint for franchises, new businesses, and big companies like Amazon as a full time muralist

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had a very good paying job as a construction inspector for a decade. The truth is I HATED IT. I always wanted to leave despite the money. I was always taught that being an artist is a hobby and not a job. When Covid happened and I was home it made me realize that I determine what is a job and what isn’t. I turned off the outside noise and made the leap. It was so scary because during Covid I had spinal surgery as well as arm and wrist surgery on my dominate hand. But I didn’t care. I was going to make it work.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being Honest and being Yourself ! People tend to gravitate more towards people they can relate to. They’ll buy your personality before they buy your work. Once trust is established the rest is history.
One more important thing is be a woman/man of your word. If you say you’ll deliver something by XYZ deadline then you better find a way to do it. That’ll keep you locked in with a client for a lifetime.
