We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elena Voleac a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Elena, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Since I was little my parents was taking me in small trips and always we loved to explore the city, walk on the beach long distances. We could walk for hours . After we got our first baby in Usa we decided to go to places we never been. First one was Aruba our kid loved it so much that every 2 months we were going to different islands . After travelling to many places random people would text me asking how is in one island or another one, which place I would recommend for visiting. So that’s when my idea came up to help in more professional way since o would find them the links and tell my opinions about resorts. I love when people are in vacation and I can help them choose the right one by becoming a travel agent

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Elena and we are family of 5. We have 3 kids : 2,5 and 8 years old. I am more specialized in carribean vacations for families with kids , couples ; cruises entire world, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. I love my job that’s why trying to get the best costumer service and always be in touch with my clients even at midnight or early morning. Once I had a client which complained about music being loud so I emailed the resort and they changed the room and gave a free upgrade. But third day of her stay water leaking happened so again I did everything possible and my clients got partial refund for their stay which they were very happy about. I also assist my clients in making claims medical or trip interruption etc. in case of airline cancellations I am assisting in getting the right amount back, rescheduling and getting them a stay while they wait for their flight.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
I started the bussiness as a side job while my baby was little only 8 months old thinking that until I will get clients my kid will be old enough for daycare but actually it took off so fast that in couple months it became a full time job. I did advertise on my social media deals and promos, my own travels and my Instagram page

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Best source right now is my Instagram page and Facebook but also my refferals are doing a great job promoting and sharing my contacts
