We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elena Richey a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Elena, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

Our mission is pretty straightforward- we love helping people. In the beginning stages of my business, I enjoyed assisting people with their real estate needs, but wanted to do more. After talking it through with my husband, we decided to add a ”giving back’ component to our business and our mantra ‘Real Estate. Real Purpose.’ was born! We pledged to take a portion of our earnings from each completed transaction and donate to a non-profit organization chosen by our client. The program has been a great success and our clients have been really receptive to the prospect of doing some good along with buying or selling their home. In recent years, we have taken steps to further commit to our mission by being involved with our local schools and teachers, volunteering with local non-profits and participating in community events. We are truly grateful that our clients continue to choose us and allow us to keep our mission going.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Hello! I am Elena Richey with Richey Real Estate Group brokered by Standard Real Estate. My team and I help people buy and sell homes all over the Dallas area. We love what we do and also enjoy giving back and participating in our community. Helping people is at the core of what we do. From a young age, I was always drawn to doing for others. At home and all through my school years I always wanted to be involved and contribute in whatever was going on. Fast forward a few years and I found myself in college pursuing a degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis. Straight out of college I went to work helping families in need by connecting them to resources that made their lives better. After taking a break to start a family, I put a lot of thought into what to do next. I had been watching a lot of house hunting/fixing/flipping shows on tv and was really inspired by the idea of home ownership and how it could help create a solid foundation for the future. Then it hit me! A career in real estate could merge these two worlds for me. I raised kids by day and attended real estate school at night, earned my license and jumped into real estate with both feet! I have been going full steam ahead for the last 7 years, earned a broker license along the way, and am so thankful to have helped so many families reach their real estate goals. Our clients range from first time home buyers, experienced buyers, investors and everything in between. We realize that making a move in real estate is a big deal and we are here for our clients every step of the way. We are never too busy to talk or answer questions about Dallas area real estate, so if we can ever be helpful, just reach out.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The best source of new clients for us is referrals from past clients. It is always a huge honor to be referred because it means we did something (hopefully many things) right. We love our clients and take a genuine interest in helping them and I think they recognize and appreciate that. We are always so excited to be part of the journey for our clients and it is important for them to know we are here for them and anyone they may send our way.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

While building a reputation is never finished, I believe we have done a good job so far in our market. We are down to earth people and I think others who appreciate that appreciate us. Our goal is to be approachable and available when someone needs us. We show up for our community and help out where we can. We believe in being honest, straightforward and consistent with our clients. We are not big on being flashy or sugar-coating things. I think like minded people appreciate these qualities and are drawn to us.
