We were lucky to catch up with Elena Ambrosio recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Elena thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

My name is Elena and I am a permanent makeup artist. Before I entered the field of permanent makeup, I struggled a great deal with my own eyebrows. No matter how much time and effort I put into shaping and coloring them, they just never seemed to look right. It was a constant battle of reapplying makeup and feeling self-conscious about my brows all day long. That all changed 6 years ago when I visited Russia and got my first powder brow treatment. It was a life-changing experience. I fell in love with my face and my brows. No longer did I have to spend countless hours reapplying makeup. I was finally free from brow worries. At that time I was considering switching my career path and this experience was like a gift from God. It became so clear to me what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. And so I became brow artist and permanent makeup specialist.

My mission is to change women’s lives with the power of permanent makeup, same way as it did change mine. You see, I firmly believe that when a woman feels confident and happy, she can accomplish anything. That’s why my goal is to make her life easier, to make her feel beautiful and empowered with permanent makeup.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Elena Ambrosio. I am a permanent makeup artist and an eyebrow designer in Miami with 6 years of experience. I was born in Siberia in Russia in a small town called Tomsk. I graduated from ballet academy, learned how to play piano, and earned a master’s degree in social work.

My destiny changed when I was 23 years old graduate from the university, I came to Miami in June of 2006 with a student exchange program and I have been living here ever since.

I worked in the luxury retail business as a stylist for 8 years and 2 years in real estate, but none of these jobs gave me the satisfaction and fulfillment I was looking for.

In 2018 I went to Russia and had a procedure done called Microshading. I was scared to do it, but I was more tired of constantly drawing in and filling in my brows, wasting my time and energy every day. I was searching for a good specialist for a while and all I could find online were pictures of unnatural scary Microbladed brows that I didn’t want to have. I wanted natural beautifully shaped brows with a shade of color to complement my face. So I signed up for a procedure. Without consultation. And I LOVED IT! The procedure was smooth and I didn’t feel any pain at all. I couldn’t believe how beautiful my face was with a new set of brows.
When I came back to Miami my brows completely healed and looked amazing. I forgot about brow pencil, I had more time in the morning for my family and I felt more beautiful and confident. I could not believe that we didn’t have such a procedure in Miami and how many women were missing out! I kept thinking about it all the time. I saw myself helping women and improving their life by making them more beautiful and confident. So I made a decision to learn this permanent makeup technique and bring it to Miami.

Since 2018 I am a licensed permanent makeup artist and haven’t stopped learning and growing. If you want to be the best at this craft, you need to invest in your education constantly, you need to be dedicated and focused, you need to be patient and believe in yourself. And that’s what I do! I constantly invest in myself because my most important goal is to give my clients quality they deserve and keep them safe.

Currently I offer all permanent makeup services, laser tattoo removal, eyebrow design services, lash lifting sevice.

With permanent makeup we can change and improve eyebrow shape, cover the gaps, give a pop of color and better outline the lips, and enhance and enlarge eyes with lash line tattooing.

In 2021 i became WULOP USA CHAMPION in eyebrow category and had an honor to represent our country in Turkey in international level championship.

My clients know me as very caring and knowledgable artist, a true dedicated professional of my field.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

I saved money for a year to open my own pmu studio and got a business credit card to use that money for marketing of my business.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

The idea was to open the studio together with a partner and share rent and utilities, and work on different projects together, but my partner bailed on me last minute. So its just me for now. Its very hard at times but i have a clear vision and i am on a mission to help as many women as possible. I believe God is helping me as well.
