We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Electra Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Electra, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I definitely learn as I go, starting off when it comes to modeling you just do as much research and practice as you can. You really start to understand yourself and what style you like! Literally the more you practice and put your best effort the better you get it. The more comfortable and confident you get!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello to everyone reading! My name is Electra Storm, I am a model from Kansas City! I started modeling a little over a year ago. People always ask how I first started getting work and honestly it was model groups on facebook! I would find work or look for photographers that needed models and start from there! Throughout the months I would start to build up my work and now people recognize me! I think my look and who I am brings me a lot of diversity. I have no certain style. I love working with all sorts of brands and seeing the outcome! I am definitely proud of my progress and hope to only do more from here!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to show that girls like me can be models/supermodels too. I am a shorter, petite model with a lot of tattoos. I am not exactly the normal model you see and I come from the Midwest. Against all odds I want to show the world you can struggle and come from nothing and do some amazing things. I aspire to do big shows in LA, New York, Paris, Milan. I also aspire to be on ads for big makeup brands and hopefully the cover of some magazines like Rolling Stones, Cosmopolitan, Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, Elle! Just to name a few

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I love doing what I do! I love the creative side doing fun photoshoots, working with models, doing things outside of the norm that makes you feel good on the inside and at the same time I love to do runway. The feeling of walking down with all the lights and everyone looking at you it’s a surreal feeling like this is your moment. Hearing people say they see my work and how much they love it, is honestly an amazing feeling. I love it and it is a passion!
