We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elaina Ray a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Elaina, appreciate you joining us today. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.
Happy to go into detail on the show, we scaled from $0 to multiple 7 figures in about 3 years, primarily by focusing on messaging – meaning being very intentional about our brand position in the market and not focusing on getting more followers or going viral on Instagram or launching a youtube channel and all the things, but focusing simply on mastering the skill of communicating the RIGHT OFFER to the RIGHT people at the RIGHT time on ONE platform and that’s it. Selling to the best of the best of our potential market, going deeper instead of broader and wider, then making the millions, and THEN scaling to more visibility like we’re doing now.

Elaina Ray is a business strategist and mentor for online service providers and entrepreneurs in the personal branding and self-development space. She’s the author of Becoming Self Made and the host of the Million Dollar Spirit Business podcast.
After leaving her successful corporate career at Fortune 500 companies like IBM and Uber and traveling to more than 60 countries, Elaina started her own coaching company and became a self-made millionaire by age 31.
She specializes in offer development, high ticket sales, scaling strategy, and mindset and management skills for accelerated business growth. She helps her clients hire a team, scale their operations, and refine their marketing and branding message to be more appealing to the top of their available market, in addition to developing and scaling passive income and leveraged income growth strategies.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
I made my first $2M exclusively through organic marketing on social media with less than 5,000 followers. I focused on messaging and niching in the most streamlined way so I was reaching just the top of my available audience and sell high ticket only to scale the business with the best of the best and most committed people only.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Hiring before I was ready! I built a great team of support so that I could stay working in my zone of genius as CEO.
