We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ekee. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ben below.
Ekee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success always depends on one’s interpretation and can be measured differently based on personal and professional experiences. For me, success is about finding a space where we can strive to explore the best parts of ourselves, no matter the field we’re in.
The most complex part, I’d say, is figuring out how to get to that “sacred place.” While I don’t have a specific recipe, I do believe there are some key ingredients: dedication, motivation, and the resilience to keep moving forward, even during tough times—like when clients are scarce, self-doubt creeps in, or personal issues arise.
It’s okay to have down moments; in fact, acknowledging them is part of the process. By recognizing these challenges, we can learn and grow from them. I believe that by consistently doing our best and pushing ourselves to trust in our abilities, we can eventually reach a place we’re proud to call successful.

Ben, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Ekee, a self-made graphic designer who draws inspiration from rave culture, ’90s aesthetics, hip-hop, and brutalist architecture. My journey into the creative industry was fueled by a love for these scenes and the visual energy they bring. Over the past decade, I’ve worn a few hats, from organizing events in the UK and France to hosting radio shows that spotlight the underground sounds I love—like grime, garage, drum & bass, and dubstep. This eclectic mix of influences has shaped my design style and approach.
When it comes to the services I offer, I focus on providing graphic design that’s as unique as the culture it represents. I’m all about creating visuals that capture the essence of the brand or project, whether it’s for social media, posters, album covers, or event branding. My main goal is to bring your vision to life with a fresh, distinct style while making the process as smooth as possible for you.
What sets me apart is my dedication to creative freedom and collaboration. I work best when clients come with ideas and inspiration but give me the space to play with concepts. I don’t do copy-paste jobs—I aim to make something unique every time. I pride myself on being honest, reliable, and easy to work with. Plus, I always keep communication open and free.
I’m always learning and evolving, embracing new ideas while staying true to my core influences. This flexibility means I’m open to exploring different styles and experimenting with new techniques. I want my clients to feel confident that they’re getting a fresh, original design every time—something that genuinely reflects their vision and speaks to their audience.
I’m most proud of the connections I’ve made in the creative community and the trust my clients place in me to bring each and every. If you’re looking for a designer who’s honest, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about what they do, I’m your person.

Not much really.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I know that to function well and maintain healthy mental health, I need to create and see the results of my work. I literally need to see what I do, which is why I don’t lean towards abstract subjects or things that are hard to grasp visually.
Being a creative allows me to release any frustration or doubts I sometimes face. I see it as a form of therapy. Plus, it’s proven that creating, exploring, and just embracing a childlike mindset is highly beneficial for our well-being.
For me, the most rewarding part is creating and enjoying the fact that I make a living from my inner world, sharing pieces of it with others through my work. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that my creativity not only helps me stay balanced but also resonates with others and brings their visions to life.
