We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ehjzohn Evans. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ehjzohn below.
Alright, Ehjzohn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
One time I went from idea to execution, I had a friend in high school that dressed really nice and had a really nice designer clothes. Every day I would go to that friends house and literally see outfits laid out for the week. One outfit for Monday all the way prepared to Sunday. Growing up my family and I couldn’t afford designer clothing. I knew I could dress and style an outfit, but after seeing that and the coordination of designer clothing everyday. I thought to myself as for designer, we couldn’t afford it, so maybe we can became it. Since then I would show more of my interest in clothing every now and then. When I designed my first garment (JerZee shorts), and made it come to life, I was excited and knew that I could take this as far as I want. Then I thought to myself imagine being front row at a fashion show and known for my premium streetwear designs. Instead I get blessed with the opportunity to be in a fashion show with my designs being displayed.
Ehjzohn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I design premium streetwear for inspired hustlers. Building on dreams from nothing to something
All products are designed with the purpose to make an individual look, think and feel good about themselves. The detailed technology in every piece is built with, ambition, and premium craftsmanship. The clothing captures the eye of show stoppers who works hard to pay themselves respect with premium fabrics.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by being authentic, inspiring, and premium. I post quality videos and an inspiring message in the songs and clips I use. I try to always relate to my audience and bring them in the lifestyle of Jerzee. Not with just the clothing, also with the aspect of inspiring. By doing that it has helped me be more direct on my social media, and it has connected me with my audience even more.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One lesson I had to unlearn was perfectionism. For example, while designing a garment and I find myself stuck on the same design for three days. I’ll over analyze the design or think it’s too much, sometimes not enough. Eventually I realize it was already done. I had to learn to accept my art and respect my designs value. Also I had to realize you cannot fix what isn’t broken.
