We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Egypt Taylor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Egypt below.
Hi Egypt , thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to create a community where all African Americans can embrace and normalize flexibility training without it being sexualized. I aim to make skills like splits, handstands, and backbends common and celebrated in our community, fostering a sense of empowerment and skill development. This mission is meaningful to me because it promotes positive cultural representation and challenges stereotypes.

Egypt , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
3gyptianFitness is centered around promoting flexibility training within the African American community, aiming to destigmatize it and make it a celebrated skill set. I ventured into flexibility training after overcoming several sports injuries, driven by a desire to inspire others to build confidence through their own recovery journeys. I believe that if I could overcome significant injuries, others can achieve any flexibility skill they set out to master.
Our mission at 3gyptianFitness is to empower individuals by offering not just physical training but also a mindset shift towards possibilities after overcoming challenges. On our website, you can find detailed information about our flexible training programs, services, and success stories. I am most proud of fostering a community where individuals support each other in their flexibility journeys.
What sets 3gyptianFitness apart is the combination of a mission-driven approach, personalized training programs, and a supportive community. We solve the problem of hesitancy and stigma around flexibility training, offering a platform for individuals to embrace their full potential.
I encourage potential clients and followers to explore our website for comprehensive details on our programs, testimonials, and the transformative impact we aim to make.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In my fitness and recovery journey, I faced numerous sports injuries that could have easily derailed my progress. One particularly challenging moment could have sidelined me indefinitely, but I chose a different path—one of resilience and determination.
Instead of succumbing to despair, I tackled the recovery process head-on. Through dedicated rehabilitation and a strong focus on flexibility training, I not only healed but emerged from the experience stronger and more resilient than ever before.
This pivotal chapter in my life became the catalyst for creating 3gyptianFitness. My journey illustrates that setbacks can be powerful stepping stones to greater achievements. I’m not just sharing a fitness story; I’m sharing a narrative of overcoming challenges, embracing resilience, and inspiring others to believe in their potential through flexibility training and personal growth.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
In my commitment to others’ well-being, I found myself going above and beyond, sometimes at the expense of my own health and happiness. One significant lesson I had to unlearn was the notion that constant self-sacrifice was the only path to helping others.
The backstory involves a period where I devoted all my energy to supporting those around me, neglecting my own needs. It became clear that my effectiveness as a guide and mentor depended on maintaining my own health and happiness. This realization prompted a shift in my approach, emphasizing the importance of self-care and setting healthy boundaries.
The lesson learned was that true empowerment comes from a place of balance and well-being. By unlearning the belief that sacrificing my health was necessary for helping others, I discovered a more sustainable and impactful way to contribute to their journeys. This shift has not only improved my own life but also strengthened my ability to positively impact those I aim to support.
