We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Egypt Bradley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Egypt, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
I had started doing lives on my Facebook page just talks encouraging others NOT to GIVE UP. Then I was inboxed by a couple of people who stated that my talks sometimes get them through the day. My son Barber heard me one day and was like hey your name is EGYPT you need to brand yourself. I didn’t understand what he was saying but he was saying, “This generation needs a strong voice that is going to help bridge gaps for all of the human race.”
I was invited to a Podcast Show Named Let’s Talk with the Next Level Radio Station. The producer liked me and told me that the numbers jumped because of my personality on the show. I was invited back and was asked to join the show. I jumped in to get my feet wet when I decided I didn’t want to be like the normal Podcast show. I wanted to get out in the community.
I talked to the other host Lady T and explained to her my vision and the Queenz of Conversation took off. We have been published in several magazines and local newspapers. We have been in movies and have had the pleasure of talking to some very influential people.
Juggling all of our events and remaining a good mother has had its challenges.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got started through trauma. I am a survivor of molestation and two failed divorces. It was in all of this I found my voice. I took all that pain and poured it into my pictures, acting, and of course podcast hosting. I talk about these issues and how we need to not ignore these problems but deal with them to heal.
One of the problems I have faced is that we are not worldly enough to show the ratchet or talk about issues that have no value. I know this is what gets a lot of people’s attention. But we need to heal and grow and leave something positive for the generation behind us.
I am out in the community, from feeding the hungry, talking to the youth, or helping to find solutions to our problems.
I am proud that this is a Woman based business that was started by women from diverse backgrounds but connected through pain. We offer broadcasting at a reasonable rate with the best enthusiasm and content for our clients.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Consistency is KEY. In a world where people are scared of failure or quick to give up you have to keep going. I and Lady T started from the ground with no Viewers. We were told you put on a show like 1000 people are watching you and we did just that. Now we are getting invites to host, broadcast, and interview all over the world. We are also Internationally syndicated. Keep going I don’t care how it looks keep going.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal is to show the younger generation of women that you can be successful without showing your body or lowering your morals. There are so many opportunities out here to go toward making a difference. We hope that we can show the world that and also Brand the Queenz of Conversation where everyone can enjoy our content, our personality, and our vision
