Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Edye Bejarano . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Edye thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission having my dance team for kids and adults is to educate our dancers and people from around the world about the beautiful dance that South America has and also bringing a little bit of south America to all those people that have immigrated to this country and missing a little piece of their country. We are not just a dance team we are a family from different backgrounds and culture and our mission is to bring joy, happiness to our community kids and adults from different backgrounds.
Edye, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I been dancing since I was 5 years old. My dad immigrated to this country to give us a better future. But I never stop dancing it took me a few years to find a place that would help me feel at home. Kausachun peru was a school that help me to get me through my toughest time. I came here not knowing anybody and they welcome me with open arms and I felt home. They taught me so many dances and not to forget my culture. Now that I am grown I want to share that with kids and adults that have immigrated this country and also miss part of their country. Is time to give back.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I met my business partner through dancing as well. We both dance while back for another dance team and we both met each other there. Now he is my husband and we both decided to start a dance team for kids and adults. We both enjoy dancing and teaching South American folklore.
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Right now. We started another food business we sell Peruvian sandwiches breakfast style. We starting slowly . Started as an idea my husband and I had and his mom helped us with contributing in the idea and also helped us to make sure we do things properly how they do the Peruvian sandwiches like peru. We are very grateful for his mom taught us how to do this and help us to achieve this. Slowly we are getting to know our food business as well. I can say I have two businesses one dance team and the other one my food business and we love both.
