We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Edwin Pericles. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with edwin below.
Edwin, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I learned by singing through emotion before technique. Music was how I survived before it was a skill. Looking back, trusting my natural tone sooner and learning basic vocal fundamentals earlier would’ve sped things up. Emotional awareness, breath control, and restraint were essential. The biggest obstacles were self-doubt, limited access to guidance, and learning to accept vulnerability as strength.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I go by TLO ,The Laughing Outcast. I’m a vocalist and artist who uses music as a way to process emotion and say the things people usually keep buried. I didn’t get into music chasing trends. I got into it because it was the only place I could be fully honest.
My work focuses on vulnerability, heartbreak, identity, and feeling out of place. I blend soulful vocals with darker, alternative energy, always putting emotion before polish. Whether I’m singing or rapping, the goal is connection, not perfection.
What I offer isn’t just music it’s relatability. I don’t try to fix people’s problems; I create space for them to feel understood. What sets me apart is my willingness to leave the cracks visible. My sound, visuals, and the Face of Reality mask all represent the same idea: embracing chaos instead of hiding from it.
What I’m most proud of is staying true to myself while building this. TLO isn’t a character it’s a reflection. If my work resonates, it’s because you’ve felt something similar, and you’re not alone.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There were periods where music was the only thing I had consistent access to no clear direction, limited resources, and a lot of self-doubt. Instead of stopping, I kept creating in imperfect conditions, recording wherever I could and learning as I went. I didn’t wait to feel ready or supported. I stayed with it, even when it felt quiet and unnoticed. That consistency is what built my voice and my confidence.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to create honest music that makes people feel seen, especially those who feel out of place or emotionally overwhelmed. I’m not trying to fit into a lane .I’m building a space where vulnerability, chaos, and authenticity are allowed to exist without apology.
