We recently connected with Edwige Gilbert and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Edwige thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission started when I was a child, although I didn’t know it at the time. At age 3, I was suddenly and shockingly left in the care of a person who I perceived to be a stranger…I learned later that she was a nanny…and placed under her protection on a cruise ship bound for France while my parents decided to stay in America and seek their fortune. Understandably, I ended up suffering from deep abandonment issues and a fear of the unknown. Upon arriving in France, I was placed under the care of my grandmother. who was deeply loving but extremely overprotective and fear-driven. I grew up without an ounce of self-confidence and a very negative mindset in general. Later in life, I learned about the concept of self-limiting beliefs and set out on a quest to free myself and find practical answers and solutions to these challenges. This journey of transformation changed my life and helped to shape my career. My mission now is to share and customize these strategies through my Fresh Start programs and help others to turn their stress into success and experience joie de vive!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My website, Newlifedirections.com, is packed with resources and information designed to help people become free of
unwanted habits and behaviors, and their self-limiting beliefs. This includes links to purchase my 2 books, “The Fresh Start
Promise” and “Victim to Victorious”, various videos and audio samples to clear unwanted emotions and create calmness, peace of mind and eventually Joie de Vivre.
I guide the world’s top entrepreneurs, charitable organizations, addiction recovery programs and many others along their path to
transformation.
I have walked my own path on this journey and take pride in being a living example of the effectiveness of my programs

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In my twenties, I left my glamorous hometown of Cannes on the French Riviera and arrived in New York City excited to explore the Big Apple. I felt surrounded by endless possibilities, but trapped from seeing them, because of the voice inside my head: my Grandmother’s voice shouting “You Can’t” anytime I dared to dream!
6 months later and 30 pounds heavier, hypoglycemic, with cholesterol to the roof and a digestive system collapsing under the weight of a diet of Bagels and Brownies, My doctor called me “a ticking time bomb!” I finally looked in the mirror and with my own voice, I shouted “I can’t go on living like this!”
I then began a quest to transform “I Can’t” into “I Can.” More than 30 years, several continents, countless hours of research and study later……I CAN speak my truth! I CAN declare how happy I am to be me, I CAN welcome infinite possibilities, I CAN have Joie de vivre, and I CAN assure you, You CAN too!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
When I embarked upon my own journey of transformation, I was excited and dove headfirst into my program of self-discovery and change. The results were so powerful and affirming that I assumed anyone who was searching for their Joie de Vivre would embrace the methodology and face the challenges with the same level of commitment and passion. After all, it’s only a 28-day program! I quickly discovered that many people are not as willing to invest themselves completely into this kind of transformation, and even if they are, their fears will block them from being as honest with themselves as they need to be to attain results. Through the years, I’ve had to develop patience and a more measured pace, taking into account the pain and pleasure principle at work in each person’s individual makeup.
