We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Eduardo Vega de Seoane a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Eduardo, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I think we all are creative beings but our society makes us difficult to developp our creativity. It’s always risky to be an artist but I think is one of the best things one can do . Life is short and to be able of create makes it beautiful , I don’t miss at all a regular job.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been a painter for some 45 years and had almost 60 solo exhibitions in Spain and other european countries. I’m lucky because I can make a living out of it.
My painting tries to give energy through colour , movement and space. I think that is very positive and makes you feel well .
I don’t like to be defined as an abstract painter, I like much better the idea of a free painter , in my paintings the observer is also an actor and he is free to see what he likes.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Our society should realize how important is art to improve our life. we artist are able to make somebody else happier and that’s something beautiful. It would be enough if we could get only 10% of the attention sport gets.I`m lucky to be artist and have lots to offer and you don’t need to be rich to get into our reality, as an observer or you could always buy pieces of art that are not expensive. Art occupies some of our spiritual side and that’s very important to get out of routine and a senseless life.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is that your life make sense through creating, investigating and being able to make others happy.
